Cross the Bridge and Crush Your Foe!
We have spent years refining this game and we feel confident Bifrost is a great game. Simple rules make this an easy game to learn, but the numerous choices make for a challenging game. The board and piece layout is different each game, so every time you play, you will face different challenges. We chose cast resin pieces so that the pieces would have the best possible weight and feel. We have arranged to have the art work done by the talented artist who did the artwork for Builders of Blankenberg. The game manufacturing will be done by Panda. We are looking forward to being able to share this game with you.
We have created a how to play video to allow you to see exactly how Bifrost plays. This is one of our prototypes and therefore does not have any of the artwork that the final game will have.
What you don't see in the video is the setup. One of the board tiles are randomly drawn and then the board is created by making a diagonal line of the color in the corner. The pieces are then randomly drawn from a bag. The first time a color is drawn, it is placed on the back starting row. when the second piece of a color is drawn, it is placed on the front starting.
We have one stretch goal, at $38,000 we will add a second game, Fimm. Fimm uses the same pieces and the board will be printed on the back of the Bifrost board tiles. Fimm is the old norse word for five. In Fimm you will attempt to create a line of five of your pieces, but each piece must be a different color.
My mission is for every person who chooses to back this project to know exactly what they will be getting when they click the button and to get everything they expect when that box arrives at their home.
Risks and challenges
The game is completely designed. As soon as this project funds, we will start working with the artist that we have lined up. Once the artwork is done, we begin working with Panda to get the game manufactured. Then shipping to a fulfillment service and delivery to you. The greatest risk is that the amount of time for each of the steps is longer we believe.
As this is our first project, we realized that international shipping, customs, and VAT, would be some of the most difficult parts of this project. We decided that we would not do international shipping this time. Once we have delivered this project successfully, we will provide international shipping for our future projects.
