About this project
Woollip’s ergonomic design is inspired by portable massage chair.
Light, foldable, inflatable, you can use it in any means of transportation. It is the perfect travel companion !
Quick and Easy to Inflate. Ready to use in 15 seconds. Check our update #9 to see how you can also inflate Woollip directly with the aircraft aeration ducts!!!
Instant deflating. Ready to fold in 2 seconds.
Sleeping well is a matter of good position.
In airplanes you have to remain seated to sleep and gravity will always pull your head forward. While most of the cushions try to prevent this natural movement, we thought that we should follow it, and lean forward with a pillow supporting the head and upper body, like in a portable massage chair.
Now, with Woollip you can relax and enjoy your flight, we know by experience that you’ll find your own ideal sleeping position.
With the cabin luggage restrictions, who would want another bulky pillow? Woollip is inflatable, light as a smartphone, so you can take it anywhere.
“Woollip helps to relax your neck muscles : no more stiff neck or back pains after a long trip!"
« It works in a very Yogaic way, helping a full relaxation by supporting your upper body. »
Before patenting our new travel pillow, our designers asked Physiotherapists to help find the best sleeping position while seating down. We also worked with Yoga teachers to ensure that Woollip will help you relax.
In fact, we discovered that Woollip works better that what we imagined. It provides sensation of relaxation, as explained by our experts.
The physiotherapists confirmed the diagnosis: Woollip supports the upper body and allows the shoulders and the head to fold forward, relieving back pain and sore neck. That helps you to fall asleep.
At that time, we knew we had achieving our goal.
To make your air travel comfortable, you’ll find many different shapes of pillows. But remember that the most important thing during long flights is to be able to sleep.
Every day, millions of air passengers dream of finding the solution.
That is why we created Woollip, the "flipped pillow"!
Thank you for having followed us this far. It’s very encouraging for us. We now need your support to make this dream a reality. If you believe in our product, spread the word around you, share with all your friends. Your financial contributions will help us manufacture the pillow and be successful in selling it. Order it for you or offer it to your friends and parents or to your best clients. It will show you care about them. We can package and ship Woollip all over the world and, thanks to our manufacturing partners, we can meet any demand.
Woollip started as a family project and over time the family got bigger! Designers, manufacturers and engineers, physiotherapists, yoga experts and aviation specialists have been involved.
It takes great skills to carry out such an ambitious and innovative project and to make it real.
We couldn’t have done it without them and they joined us because they believed in the idea and the product.
We hope you will be as enthusiastic as we are.
Special thanks to Pascal Durand, owner of Acett.net, who masterfully designed and prototyped the first Woollip.
Your new travel pillow will be manufactured by Manudo, one of the leading suppliers of the airplane seat industry.
After months of work, Woollip is ready for take-off. But we need your help to launch it throughout the world. Each contribution will help us and encourage us in our challenge.
Your support will help us manufacture it.
We are already thinking about adding new features and products to be soon available at airport Duty free stores around the world.
There is much to do to improve air travel comfort. It’s just the beginning of the Woollip story.
It was a long journey. Two years from the initial idea to creation. It was an amazing adventure, with ups and downs, but at the end extremely satisfying and exciting. We would like to share it with you. Welcome backstage!
None of this could have happened without the help of each of every one of you. Special thanks to:

Risks and challenges
If the Woollip Travel Pillow is successfully funded we are extremely confident we will be able to produce the pillow and send it to backers by July 2016. We have a patent pending for the design and the product. All the funds raised will go to the production of Woollip. We are confident that the production of your pillow will go smoothly, although there are always unforeseen circumstances that may arise. However, we will do all in our power to get you the quality pillow you have supported and you are expecting.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
A. Once fully inflated, you can adjust the height of your Woollip by slightly touching the valve to release a bit of air. By doing this you'll reduce the height of your Woollip and make it suitable for all sizes between 1,40 meter and 1,95 meter (4.6 – 6.4 foot). Our lawyer, who is 6.3, tested and approved it.
If you are taller than that, you can always adjust the height of your Woollip by putting a folded blanket under your Woollip pillow on the tray table. You will get the same comfort-result and be able to relax just as well!
A: Due to Woollip Travel Pillow's heigh, there is sufficient room between the seat in front of you and your resting head.
We have tested this repeatedly in different aircrafts' settings in order to optimize the adjustment of Woollip's shape.
Please click on this link to watch the demo video showing precisely how it looks when the seat ahead of you is reclined back :
You may also have noticed that more airlines now implement non-reclinable seats in order to save space and weight, even for long-distance flights.
An alternative solution is to order 2 Woollip Travel Pillows and generously offer one to the passenger in front of you ! :-)
Woollip is highly practical being the same size as a pocketbook once folded (6.3 x 6.3 x 1.38 in; 16 x 16 x 3.5 cm) and barely bigger than a soda can when twisted round. It’s as light as a smartphone (9oz; 225 g). You can easily carry it in your hand luggage while traveling. It has a little bag to fold it in. When you want to use it, you just have to blow 5 times and you’re ready to sleep! After a good rest, you can deflate Woollip in only two seconds.
Woollip is hand washable.
We are working on optional features such as a cover to put on top of Woollip (machine washable or disposable). Woollip comes with a little bag to fold it in, which is water and dust resistant.
Woollip is made of the same material as the U-shaped inflatable pillows (flocked PVC). This material is very resistant and has a pleasant touch. It will come with a water resistant bag to fold it in.
