Hi. Any news on shipping? Still waiting on 2 x 6 foot. with traffic handles. Aloha Flower Print / Teal. I sent a message to you on January 17, 2017 answering these questions (which are the same questions from the survey). Are you still waiting on other information from me? If so, what do you need from me?

My dog easily chewed through the leash in less than 20 seconds when she was momentarily restrained m by the leash. Additionally the leash is too thin without additional handle supports to control a dog, the crowd control option is bothersome and this has been the only leash to ever leave my hand with blisters.

@Erin Baker The traffic handles will loosen up with time and lay flatter, but we'd be happy to swap you out for some leashes without them if you'd like. As far as the rope goes, it's supposed to be be skinny in the middle and thicker on the ends as the rope is buried inside the hollow core. This element of the construction gives the leash its strength. Using knots significantly reduces the strength of the rope so we do not use any knots in manufacturing. That being said, we strive for complete customer satisfaction and stand behind our products 100%. You are welcome to return or exchange if unsatisfied for any reason.

      Hi,
I received the family pack I pledged for and noticed that the rope they are all made with is defective- they are stretched like an old hair tie so they are super thin on one end and bunched up on the other. I am also not happy with the traffic handles- they are too large and do not lay flat so they get caught on my dog and passing objects. How can I exchange?

Just got my ultralight today. My dog is only 15lbs and walks on a leash well so the ultralight is perfect for her. I do like the carabiner that's included instead the s-biners on the prototypes. I feel the gates on the s-biners are too loose to trust on a leash.

Have you considered offering the carabiners on their own on your webpage? I would like a few to use on keyrings as they're far better quality than the small carabiners I usually see.

    19. Bridger Dopp 2-time creator on

Hi! I have a (hopefully quick!) question - I don't see an option for the middle print that was unlocked (looks kind of like a galaxy print). How can we select that in our survey? That's the print I really really want with the teal leash color! Thank you so much!

Please charge my card for traffic handle , I forgot at backer page to add..?? Thanks Tim ONeill

    38. Bridger Dopp 2-time creator on

@ Jenna: Hi Jenna, the traffic handle is part of the overall length so a six foot leash with a traffic handle is still six feet long. The traffic handle is about two and a half feet to make it way to grab or used as a stand alone training lead.

    39. Jenna on

I was about to fill out the survey, but have a question...I pledged for the Minimus then did the $4 traffic extra. I am wondering if I pick the 6' or 4' is the traffic loop built into that length or will it be longer than the choice I pick because the traffic loop is added on? If it's added on, how much length does the traffic loop add?

    40. Brenda

I had ordered the 4 pack, as we have 3 dogs. I wanted all of them to be minimus, but it looks like I'll be getting 2 of each. Any chance of changing that at this late date?

    41. Bridger Dopp 2-time creator on

@ Marsha Tyszler: thanks so much for such great input. We'll look into an addition option and see what we can come up with. Didn't testing, we found the leashes really don't tangle that much even with our dog (who isn't very polite on a leash). That being said, I can see the need for sure.

    42. Marsha Tyszler
      Superbacker
      on

@Bridger, no worries! I just wasn't sure if you accidentally missed my post. I know that it's tough to manage your work on development AND fielding the campaign at once (most people can't begin to imagine all that's involved!), so no need to apologize!

I'm really glad my feedback is useful! Teal and grey are two great colors to offer as base color offerings before moving to new colors (I happen to love both, especially teal, which is my favorite color!). I'm glad that you're going to look into the other ideas for the current leash design and/or future leashes like interchangeable handles, adjustable leashes, tethers, and extra long training leashes. It's really neat that you are thinking outside the box and hearing backers' feedback to bring us an amazing line of leashes ( . . . and perhaps other novel products?!).

My favorite suggestion from another backer is to make a bolt snap available for dogs that twist around a bit. (I didn't mention it in my comments because it seemed silly to repeat it again!) Service dogs that are properly trained won't run in circles like that. However, a bolt snap would make a huge difference for service dogs that need to move in various positions in order to do their jobs easily and properly without the leash getting in their way. For instance, when I go to training classes at the organization where I'm on the waiting list, I've noticed that nearly every dog "in-training" that I've worked with gets tangled on the leash when I need it to move from one side of my scooter to the other -- and bolt snap hardware to help unravel the leash as the dogs move would totally prevent that. This only seems to happen to people with wheelchairs, scooters, some crutches, walkers, and other large assistive equipment, whereas those handlers without any assistive equipment don't have an issue with the leash needing a bolt snap. I realize some backers may feel that adding a bolt snap will "ruin the product" (as one person commented), but perhaps you can offer it as an optional add-on for those who feel they'd prefer this function over adding a few ounces more (if at all) to the leash. Bolt snaps come in all kinds of materials and sizes, so perhaps it won't even change Kloudline's weight vs. using your current hardware.

Keep up the awesome work! It sounds funny to be excited over a dog leash, but I am!!

Switching to a standard bolt snap for this leash will ruin it. Most dogs don't run round in circles when being walked.

    44. Bridger Dopp 2-time creator on

@ Marsha Tyszler: Wow Marsha, excellent feedback thanks so much! Sorry for the delayed response, we're getting through all the comments now. Currently, the handles aren't interchangeable, but that's now on our radar since you brought it up. Because this is our first run, we are only offering teal and charcoal in leash colors, but will be adding more colors as we grow. We don't have a wrist tether solution right now, but a waist tether wouldn't be hard with a small additional clip. We will be offering a training long line very soon and have a great design for an adjustable length leash that's pretty slick, just not ready for this current Kickstarter project. Thanks again for such detailed input. Feel free to send us any more messages or comments with questions of concerns.

I just pledged to this project but I want 2 leases, how can I do this? My pledge was the $13 option.

    48. Bridger Dopp 2-time creator on

@ Jauvane Oliveira: we've actually done quite a bit of testing with a dog that likes to make circles and because the leash is so light, it really doesn't twist that much. That being said, we are considering switching to a standard bolt snap

    49. Jauvane Oliveira
      Superbacker

I noticed now that the double carabiner at the dog end of the leash does not allow rotations to occur. With that said, the leash will get quite some torsion as the dog rotate around. Are there plans to change that carabiner with a proper leash connector that allows the rotations to be released rather than accumulated in the leash?

    50. Marsha Tyszler

Kloudline leashes are PAWSOME!!! I have some suggestions/questions:

      1) Can the minimum handle be replaced to trade the different patterns and colors you offer? I hope so cause I'd hate to buy several leashes just to get the cool styles?

      2) Do both style leashes come in various colors?

      3) I'm on a waiting list to get a service dog (hoping it'll happen soon!), and I'm wondering if you can add a waist tether so I won't have to hold a leash, harness and crutch/wheelchair/scooter. A wrist tether would also be neat. I'm sure runners and active people would love both types of tethers too!

      4) Also for service dogs, I've noticed when I go to classes with the organization and borrow a dog in-training that it's handy to have a leash that can adjust between 3-6 feet on the fly (i.e. When I use my scooter or wheelchair outside, I need more length, but then I need less length when I "park it" indoors and switch to crutches. Usually adjustable leashes have several metal D-rings and clips to make the adjustments. Metal would add lots of weight, but maybe it would be better with a one-piece tube with D-ring integrated and made from the same lightweight material as the collar clip you have at the end of your leashes (I'm assuming it's a strong, lightweight polymer like Kevlar). Or maybe small circular pieces of leash that are fully rubberized and interspersed into the leash at 1 or 1/2 feet intervals. Perhaps you can experiment with this because it would make a huge difference for me and many other people.

      5) I'd love to eventually see a super long tether for times when people want to give their dogs some extra freedom but still need them to be tied down so they won't run away.

If you need diagrams to help you picture any of the above, let me know. I'd be happy to sketch my visions so you can see what I mean! Thanks for inventing the best leashes EVER!!!
