A lightweight pedalboard, case and mounting tape that makes setup and break down a breeze.
The Stealth pedalboard started as a way to capture all of the gig-friendly features from Blackbird's custom boards in a lighter and easier to carry design. The board is formed from impact resistant ABS plastic to provide the perfect balance between strength and weight. The board's raised edges and sloped design help eliminate weak spots in the frame and give the pedalboard a look that's like no other on the market. Best of all the Stealth weighs in at only 3 pounds.
The end result is a pedalboard that can take the abuse of being dropped, stomped, crushed and smashed but has all of the gig friendly features to make setup and playing a breeze.
The gradual slope of the board makes reaching over your front row of pedals easier. The wedge design also allows you to store excess cables and power supplies under your board so they are clean and out of site. The board's dimensions are 25x15x3.75 and can hold up to 8-12 pedals.
Every Stealth pedalboard comes equipped with two solderless 1/4" jacks for your input and output. Simply plug a cable from your first and last pedals on your board, to the inside of the jacks. Now you have easy access to plug in your guitar and amp, without having to touch or move a single pedal.
The built in Power Bays are designed to give you easy access to your board's power supply as well. By mounting your power under your board, you free up the top for what every guitarist needs; more pedals.
Finally, the thick rubber channel around the bottom of the Stealth pedalboard ensures that wherever you drop it; it will stay.
Once we had the design of the Stealth finished we knew another problem we needed to tackle was the case. Traditional ATA cases provide great protection because of their plywood construction but are often bulky to carry and back-breakingly heavy. Gig bags on the other hand win out in the weight category but provide less than stellar protection when you plan on throwing your board in the back of a car or even worse on a plane. So when it came time to decide the construction of the Stealth case we thought; "why not make it both?". The case features a plywood side and bottom construction wrapped inside a durable and padded nylon enclosure.
The Stealth's hybrid case has all of the protective properties of a flight case without the added weight of bulky hardware and extrusions. We even included an extra large pocket for cables, music and accessories.
As an added bonus for Kickstarter backers we are giving you a choice between five different case colors; black, red, yellow, orange and blue. This is a limited run and will only be available by choice through the Kickstarter campaign.
Velcro usually rules the land when it comes to mounting pedals. It's strong, cheap and easy to rearrange. But as anyone who as ever tried to remove Velcro from one of their pedals knows, it is not without flaws. The adhesive left behind from Velcro can be nearly impossible to remove and can often cause damage to the pedal's paint or labeling. The other downside to Velcro is it's hassle of having two different sides; a loop and a pull. The result is usually long strips of carpet loop going across the length of a board that end up gathering more dirt, dust and dog hair than a Dyson.
With these critiques in hand we sought to find a fastener that has all of the strength and maneuverability of velcro but without the damaging adhesive and dual sides. The result is the first foam based pedalboard tape.
At first we tried every foam tape that is currently on the market; and yes we mean every. The problem was that they were either too strong to remove or left the same adhesive residue as Velcro. In the end we decided to team up with a tape manufacturer to produce a proprietary foam tape that is strong when mounted, easy to remove when needed and leaves less adhesive behind when taken off. Best of all the tape is double sided, which means you need just a single piece under each pedal and you are ready to go.
Every Stealth Pedalboard system will come with a 9 foot roll of pedalboard tape.
The Stealth Pedalboard system is going on its second year of planning. From the onset we made a decision to keep production of the pedalboards right here in Florida. We knew it would cost more, but the end result would be having complete control over the quality of the board; a principal Blackbird maintains with every pedalboard we make. The added advantage of keeping production locally is working first hand with manufacturers. We have already setup where, how and when the boards will be made. The only thing we're missing is you.
We need your help to bring this project to life. Once we reach our goal, we will have enough capitol to begin production on the Stealth pedalboards immediately. The dominos are stacked; we just need you to give us that first push. By participating in our Kickstarter campaign you're also laying the foundation for future Stealth designs. We are already planning a larger Stealth board and even one that incorporates Blackbird Wah Wedge design.
Love your pedals; please help us bring the Stealth Pedalboard system to life and take part in the evolution of the guitar pedalboard.

Risks and challenges
We have spent over a year planning the design and manufacturing of the Stealth Pedalboard and feel confident in its production. We have already made the aluminum mold that will be used to form the pedalboards and have the manufacturers lined up for the cases and pedalboard tape. The biggest hurdle we face is coordinating the completed pedalboard system between three separate manufacturers. Although we have individually worked with and perfected each aspect of the pedalboard, bringing the board, case and pedalboard tape together at the same time will be a challenge. We have confirmation from all of our manufacturers that a 30 day window will be sufficient to produce and deliver each component of the project and have allotted delivery dates accordingly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
