Stretch goal time!
Update August 14th, 2016:
We made it to our fundraising goal!! Thank you SO much to everyone who's helped to back this project; your support means the world to us!
Since we reached the goal before the end date of our Kickstarter campaign, we're allowed to set a "stretch goal" for any extra money that we may receive beyond our initial funding. If we reach $3,000 before the end of our campaign (nine days left to go!) the additional funds will be put toward the artwork and design of the CD.
We're very excited to be going into the recording studio next month!
Who we are:
Hello! We're Grietzer, Hodgson, Manning, an acoustic trio from the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.
Hope Grietzer is our fine fiddler, tune-writer extraordinaire, and an inductee into the New York State Fiddlers' Hall of Fame. Hope teaches fiddle full time, and Tune of the Month on her website, www.happyhollowmusic.com, is enjoyed by fiddlers across the globe.
Tom Hodgson is our excellent rhythm guitarist. He's been accompanying musicians across the country who play in the Northern tradition - French Canadian, Celtic, and New England styles - for years. We like to say that our lead instruments, fiddles and mandolin, provide a nice accompaniment to Tom’s fine rhythm playing.
Rick Manning plays mandolin and fiddle in GHM adding bluegrass, swing, and western swing influences to the trio's sound. Rick performs with Paris Texas and the Contradictions and is the founder of the Winter Village Bluegrass Festival and Falling Waters Music Camp.

About our project:
We're very excited to be creating our second album of acoustic music. We're calling the album "Yellow Barn" after a unique barn at the La Tourelle Resort where we've performed and taught during music festivals that band member Rick Manning promotes. The new album will all be all instrumental, and will be released both physically and digitally. It features five original tunes by Hope and three of Ricks, along with favorites from other composers.
We recorded our first album, "Whistling Swans", in a marathon one day session. It turned out well - it was even nominated for an award - but we're hoping to spend a bit more time in the studio this time around, putting more energy into some artful arrangements.
Our plan is to record in September of this year, with the goal to raise $2,500 in 28 days to cover recording, mixing and mastering at Electronic Wilburland Studio. Our sound engineer will be the Grammy award winning Will Russell. Located in a beautiful old church, the studio is an inspiring place to make music!
Take a peek at the fun range of rewards we're offering. Should we (hopefully!) raise more money than the goal, we'll use the extra to offset the cost of creating the artwork and printing the physical CDs.
Your support is essential to bring this project to life; we can't do it without you! So thank you in advance for any help you can give us, and for sharing the link to this project with family and friends that might enjoy our music.

p.s. The tunes we're playing on the video are "On the Carpenter's Porch", by Princess Harris, "The Yellow Barn" by Hope Grietzer, and "Whistling Swans" by Hope Grietzer.
Risks and challenges
If our goal isn't met by the end of the campaign, Kickstarter automatically refunds your money, so your donation is risk-free. And having worked with sound engineer Will Russell on our previous release, once the project is underway we're confident in our ability as a team to record a quality album.
We hope you enjoy the music as much as we enjoy creating it!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
