What is the Palm Authority Project?
The Palm Authority Project is a large-scale installation with 5 white giant inflatable hands and an audio part, which was presented in Miami during Art Basel 2011.

This piece is part of a larger body of work called “the future is on your hand” that uses the metaphor of palm reading to investigate the ways society shapes the individual’s identity.
For this project, I worked with children from Jamaica, St Lucia, Haiti and El Salvador to record the audio part of the installation in English, French and Spanish. The children involved are part of the OASIS and MARTE program started by the Art Museum of the Américas AMA, Organization of American States. www.museum.oas.org
What is next?
The installation was a great success in Miami. More than 3,000 adults and children came and interacted with the 5 giant cartoonish hands. Even if the piece deals about a serious social subject, I wanted to keep it engaging and whimsical and allow any viewer to relate to it his/her own way.
Now it is time to “bring the hands to NYC”! And what a better venue than Figment and Governors Island to do so?
How can you help?
The installation is ready but I need now to find funds to pay for the logistic costs necessary to re-create it to Governors Island, mainly shipping and audio system rental.
Thank you in advance for your support and hope I will see you all during this weekend of art, creativity, family and fun at Figment Festival!
