"4 Seasons of Yosemite" is a mural project of 4 large beautiful walls of stained glass depicting the natural beauty of Yosemite during nature's annual cycle. The Project began 25 years ago when I arrived in Yosemite with the intent of studying its natural beauty and a plan to reproduce it in massive stained glass murals. I stayed in Yosemite for 3 months hiking and sketching the park from every angle. I created a portfolio of pencil drawings to be used in the design of the murals.
Over the years I have produced, at my own expense, two of the intended series of four murals. Each mural requires over 900 hours to complete. The third mural, Spring, is designed and ready to start cutting the glass.
The 150th Anniversary of Yosemite National Park is approaching in 2014. We want to have these beautiful murals complete and on display for this historic event - a fitting tribute for a special time and place.
In order to complete this project, I need help financing it. That is why I have brought "4 Seasons of Yosemite" to Kickstarter. I invite you to become a part of this historic project by becoming a donor. You will play a vital part in making this complete, one-of-a-kind art display a reality that honors the one-of-a-kind natural wonder that is Yosemite.
My intention is to find a public home for the Four Murals of Yosemite to be enjoyed by the public. I will keep everyone informed of the progress of the creation of Spring and Summer. We will have a celebration for the completion of all Four Seasons-- all donors invited!
All funds collected over the target amount will be applied to facilitate a location to display the murals to the public. I have designed a building ideal for displaying the murals, that would serve as a visitors center for the Sierras -home to Yosemite. If and when sufficient funds are accumulated for this, an ideal venue would be created. Anything less will enable installation and display in a pre-existing location. I am in contact with the leadership of the Yosemite National Park and their museum, which will enable future exhibition of the murals.
As is the Kickstarter way, your donation will count only when we accrue donations equalling the goal sought, within our 30 day run. Your donation is very important to us. We look forward to counting you as one of our community of supporters, and we will keep you informed as we progress. We hope to meet you all at our final unveiling event.
Great Appreciation and a Big Thank You! with a handwritten note and a phone call to all donors.

Risks and challenges
We have been mastering creative challenges for a lifetime! We both have 30+ years experience working with glass, and Bill builds fine handcrafted furniture. We have the know-how for creating the murals and have already completed two of the four. Our biggest challenge is the funding. We will travel to New Jersey, Illinois, and Oregon to hand pick the perfect glass from different manufacturers.
Each mural will take about a year to construct. It is a huge project--and we are excited to get going!
