How it all began:
Hey Kickstarters, thanks for checking out my project! Over the last year, I have researched, designed, created and tested several prototypes which led to WilkWear's "Padded Collarbone Compression Shirt". Now I need your help to get the shirt produced.
Whether you are just beginning a fitness program or are an experienced athlete, the "Padded Collarbone Compression Shirt" provides a layer of protection to your collarbone while working out with a barbell. The padding reduces the shock of the barbell during specific movements (see video below). The compression shirt's snug fit holds the padding in place and allows you to workout more intensely without having to constantly readjust the padding. The padding is divided into 8 individual pieces for optimal mobility as you move throughout the workout.
- 85% Nylon & 15% Spandex creates the compression fit
- Anti-microbial fabric wicks moisture away from your body, keeping you cool and fresh before, during and after a workout
- The compression shirt fits tight to your body to keep the padding in place, so you can focus on the workout rather then readjusting the padding
- The 8 individual pads allow for maximum collarbone protection while maintaining mobility
The "Padded Collarbone Compression Shirt" can be used for 9 Movements:

Why I decided to make this shirt and create this Kickstarter campaign:
Personally: I have been involved with CrossFit for 2.5 years and really enjoy it. The community is the best and the workouts push me both mentally and physically. However, as a beginner there was a tough and sometimes painful learning curve with CrossFit. I had battle marks after every workout and I said to myself, "There's got to be something that can help". I created WilkWear's "Padded Collarbone Compression Shirt" to help beginners experience the benefits, not the pain and bruising, associated with CrossFit.
Professionally: The growth of CrossFit as a market is exponential. Gyms are opening up daily all over the U.S. with no signs of stopping. In fact, 209,585 people registered for the 2014 CrossFit Games; up from 138,619 in 2013 and 69,370 in 2012 (reference: 209,585 Rise of the Open for stats). As a business owner, I need your help to enter this growing market and quickly build market share. Kickstarter is a critical step to raise funding and help me get the word out. So thank you for your support!
With your generosity I will be able to accomplish even more...
With $10,000 I will be able to work with the manufacturer to produce the "Padded Collarbone Compression Shirt" in an array of colors for Men & Women
With $15,000 I can begin design and testing on future products to help reduce bruising in other parts of the body.
As part of the www.kickingitforward.org community, WilkWear will pledge 5% of profits to be reinvested into other Kickstarter Projects.
