WHY THIS BOOK
My name is Marco Mazzoni, I am a 35 years old draughtsman, based in Milan, Italy and this is my first Kickstarter.
During my career as an artist working and exhibiting in galleries throughout the USA and Europe, I have always had by my side (or, better still, under my working table) a faithful companion: my dog.
A few weeks before my latest solo show in Los Angeles, this dear dog friend of mine passed away.
This is the reason why I decided to develop something completely different from my usual works: an illustrated book about the strong relationship between a human being and a dog. Therefore, I tried to create a tiny and precious story that could properly describe how important can be the small part of one’s life spent with his/her animal friend.
The aim of this book will be that of helping kids and their parents to deal with the “goods and bads” of having a mate with four paws around.
To be able to accomplish such project, I need your support, which is why I am turning to Kickstarter!
My goal is to reach the sum of 10.000 euros in order to have my story "Mirta and her pawsome friend" published as a book.
The book will be made up of more than 30 illustrations, printed in high quality and with a hard cover, shipping worldwide.
All illustrations will be entirely hand drawn, in colored pencils on moleskine paper.
Other than the book, many further rewards will be available for backers!

THE COLORING BOOK
Will be made up of 24 pages, size 29 x 21 cm.
The book will contain line drawings by Marco Mazzoni, non related to the story.
Risks and challenges
I've been a professional artist and also an illustrator for important newspapers and magazines abroad for over 10 years and I am used to meet deadlines and expectations rather quickly. This project though, is quite different from my usual work, and this is why I will keep strictly focused on it for the coming month, constantly sharing with you updates and work in progress shots related to the overall development of the book. Such book will be made up of more than 30 hand drawn illustrations and I plan on having half of the drawings ready within the deadline of this Kickstarter. If I reach the goal, I will keep up with the remaining work, in order to have all the illustrations ready by the end of August, and shortly after that, printed in high quality as a hard cover book and shipped worldwide by October. I don't expect any problem, but should any issue come out, I will be ready to fix it as soon as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
