Have you ever had a book rattling around in your head for months, even years? I'll wager that you currently have one. Well, this one is mine. But after five years, it is no longer just rattling around in my head, it is now rattling around on my hard drive! Also in the cloud, for safekeeping.
You see, five years ago, I brought home a baby boy. I agonized and fretted that my dog would not accept his demotion from center of attention to baby vomit cleaner (I did try to stop him the first couple of times). However, the first meeting went swimmingly, with the dog sniffing the baby and the two of them alternating between tolerating and adoring each other from then on.
Therefore, this book is not based on a true story. It is based on my anxiety about the imagined rancor between my newborn and my best friend. But it ended well in real life and ends well in the book. I promise.
Unfortunately, the real Bobo had to go live elsewhere, which is not a euphemism, he actually had to move to California *sniff*. But while they were together, Bobo and the Fuss were inseparable. Here's an intentionally heart-melting montage of the two of them frolicking:
At any rate, I want to print 1,000 of these books and peddle them across the globe. It's already written, illustrated, and laid out, all at my own expense. Now it just needs to be published and printed. To do that, I need your support. There's something in it for you, of course. Look at all the nifty rewards in store for you, you won't be disappointed! Unless you go for the top tier, but I clearly disclosed the value (or lack thereof) in reaching for it. But I guess in that case, you are actually paying for disappointment. So you won't be disappointed about your disappointment!
Thank you in advance for my advance to advance the arts!
USE OF FUNDS
The primary use of funds will be to schedule a print run of hard cover books. The books will be 8" x 8" and each is 32 pages long. There are 16 full color illustrations in the book as well, so print costs will be higher than a words-only book would.
In addition, there are some shipping costs that will be addressed (moving 1,000 books around the country is not inexpensive!). Finally, the book will need an ISBN for a few hundred dollars to make it bona fide.
Should this humble kickstarter reach $20K in funding, we'll print an additional 500 books and ship them to a selection of libraries, schools, and other charities nominated by you, our intrepid backers.
If we reach $50K in funding, I'll cook and eat one of the books and post the video. I reserve the right to use a blender and as much time as is necessary. I will also ship an additional 1,000 books to various charities and libraries.

Risks and challenges
There is nothing stopping this other than lack of funds. I literally have the book uploaded to a publisher and I just have to click "Checkout." There are some logistics challenges such as shipping and delivery, but I am already set up with Amazon to handle shipping and fulfillment for all of the books. Delays in printing will likely be the biggest risk, but they should still be delivered well before the holiday season.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
