An Animated Comedy TV Series
In order to produce a trailer for our animated TV series, "Heromakers," we need to fund our amazing voice-over talent, sound engineer, character illustrator, and animation team, Exit 73 Studios (Comedy Central's "Ugly Americans," Adult Swim's "Superjail").
The dysfunctional Murray family starts a business that offers human clients the opportunity to experience the life of a superhero.
Champion City is just like any other city… except that a Super Hero Intelligence Team (S.H.!.T.) exists.
The Incredible Eagle Scout (half eagle, half Eagle Scout) has a heart bigger than his birdbrain. Determined to earn every possible merit badge while saving the citizens of Champion City, he often overlooks his own clumsiness and causes more damage than good.
Icebreath 3007, an ego-driven, sellout rapper, has the ability to put out apartment fires with a single exhale, but he cares more about winning over his teeny bopper fans and marketing his various product lines.
The Amazing Rubberto Bandini, an overly upbeat sex addicted magician, is able to transform his rubber-made body into anything from a tire to leather chaps and a whip.
Ex-Professor, their leader, feigns paralysis and rides a motorized supermarket cart to earn sympathy votes. He runs the youth hostel where the superheroes reside amongst hundreds of foreign students.
Mayor Cagney devises sleazy schemes to keep his citizens down and exploit S.H.!.T. for his own power. One scheme includes pushing S.H.!.T. to replace the fire department. Not everyone is excited about this, specifically fire fighter, Larry Murray, and Larry's family.
The Murrays are just like any other family.
Larry Murray is a hardworking, hot-tempered, blue-collar, everyday family man. After losing his firefighter job to the Super Hero Intelligence Team, and discovering that his wife once had an affair with just about every superhero in college, he wants to prove humans can do anything super humans can do.
Denise Murray,a former superhero-swinging-sorority-house-sex-kitten, has now settled into her role as promotions team member for the city’s fifth best radio station, WHRO 107.7 as well as mother, diplomat, and motivational speaker of the Murray household. As contact and press agent for Heromakers she hopes to build the business’s legacy and make her husband proud.
Tim Murray is a confident high school freshman nerd with a personality even more attractive than his looks. He loves his mother and father, but hides his secret telekinetic superpowers from them for fear that Larry will disown him. He’s also a bit creeped out by uncle Bill’s fanatic infatuation with superheroes. Before Heromakers he only used telekinesis to entertain himself, but now finds he’ll have to showcase it during every mission surreptitiously.
Bill, Denise’s deadbeat brother, now lives on the Murray’s couch. Larry hates Bill so much that Denise forced her husband to include “I will not kill your brother” in his wedding vows. As Heromakers develops, Bill sees the business as an opportunity to creep closer to superheroes and become the superhero he’s always wanted to be.
Larry and his dysfunctional family start a business that vows to re-empower humans. With Larry's background in saving lives, Denise's promotional expertise, Tim's ability to design anything from rocket boosters to indestructible body armor, and Bill's knowledge of S.H.I.T., Heromakers promises to give any client the opportunity to experience life as a superhero.
For example, a client enters the office and asks to look heroic in front of his office crush. Larry places Denise in the window of a burning building, and equips the client with a rocket booster designed by Tim. The client flies up, saves Denise, becomes a hero, and wins over that office crush.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Because our collaborative includes full time actors, comedians, and a professional sound engineer, the challenge will be to schedule a time when we are all available for a trailer recording session. As everyone is excited to work together on this, we've already begun scheduling the recording a month in advance to ensure we can overcome this challenge.
Another challenge is that the Exit 73 Studios animation team is extremely popular and as a result we must compete with other projects for their time and attention. While they are very excited to work with us and love the project, they also need to eat. A successful kickstarter campaign will allow us to hire them to create an awesome trailer.
