Size Matters

Posted by Barry Lee (Creator)

Ok so a lot of people I know will be interested in comparing my new mongols to other ranges.

In photo 1&2 (above) you can see my heavy cavalry figure (right) next to a Fireforge mongol (left). Fireforge produce a boxed set of plastic horse archers (of which this is one, to which I have done some minor conversions to the rider). The principle difference here is in the height of the Fireforge horse, compared to my mongol pony. The rider, which is approximately the same size, sits lower on the ponies back.

In picture 3, my mongol lancer (left) is alongside a Gripping Beast Mongol Cavalryman on an armoured horse. Once again, the riders are similar height but the GB horse is considerably taller than the mongol pony. That said, GB’s mongol range appears to be from a later period (Timurid)

So there you have it, you decide.
