HAPPY TO HELP
A new play by award-nominated playwright Michael Ross
Happy to Help is a darkly funny play about the supermarket industry and its impact on all of our lives.
After being shortlisted for the Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize, it was selected by the Park Theatre for their 2014 Script Accelerator Programme; a prestigious script development programme to help launch high-quality new work in London.
Following a successful work-in-progress performance, the Park Theatre have offered Happy to Help a four week run in Spring 2016 in the Park90 space.
PLANS FOR THE SHOW
Our Kickstarter campaign will cover the costs of securing our slot at the Park Theatre from May - June 2016.
Between the team, we have extensive experience of securing funding and marketing to bring in audiences, all of which we will use to bring in the remainder of our budget.
Your donations will allow you to be a part of this production from the very beginning; we'll send you regular updates, beyond the length of our crowdfunding campaign, right up until the final curtain call.
But we're not asking you for something for nothing; we've got some great rewards and opportunities to offer you in return for your support. Fancy having your name on a set piece or even becoming an Associate Producer? Take a browse through the rewards to your right.
WHY ARE YOU PUTTING IT ON?
We want to bring Happy to Help to the stage for two reasons:
1) It's a really funny play. The script has been given a lot of support and positive feedback from the audiences who've seen it so far, and we want even more people to see it next year.
2) Supermarket industries have a HUGE impact on the way that independent and local businesses operate. We want to explore and discuss these issues through the play itself, and also through talks and workshops that we'll run alongside it. We've been out talking to local shop owners around London, and we'll be sharing their thoughts with you through our updates over the coming weeks.
We need your help to raise £5000 to cover the upfront costs of securing our theatre venue.
Thank you so much for taking the time to find out more about Happy to Help. Every little really does help to take this production forward, and is hugely appreciated.
If you can't pledge, please send a link to your friends and family, and shout about us on social media.

Risks and challenges
Launching any new play in London is a risky business. Audiences and reviews are unpredictable, but we have a great script, the support of one of London's top Off West End theatres, and the drive to overcome any obstacles to make Happy to Help a success for everyone involved.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
