Stick Figures? What?
Yes! I’ve been drawing stick figure comics since I was 12 years old. I used to put them in the carefully folded notes we’d pass around in school (the background story on that is here), put them in letters, and give friends full page stick figure comic stories and comic books as gifts. They’ve become much more refined over the years and my main character’s hair has (thankfully) changed with the times (a bit more on that here). Now I post them to my blog and other places, sell prints on Etsy, illustrate for blogs sometimes and do various other things.
And now, I’d like to publish a comics anthology, and I’d love your help! The book is called How I Feel Today: Comics for Everything You've Ever Felt, and it will be lovely to look at, funny, epically cute and will make you feel all the things. The book will be beautifully printed, 8x10 inches, about 80 pages, and a mix of color and black and white comics and illustrations.
What It’s About
My comics have always been about the things I’m feeling, whatever I come across and the stories and ideas people I meet tell me about. Once I started sharing my comics online, I noticed that people (all kinds of people!) really relate. Apparently I’m not the only one feeling all that stuff, and we’re all more similar than I ever realized. As it turns out, the world is a pretty moody place.
My stick figure characters are both simple and extraordinarily expressive, and the stories they share are sometimes funny, sometimes poignant and often both.
To fund this project, I’m asking for your help in raising $4,500. The funds will go toward printing costs, shipping materials and art supplies.

And here's a short video of my talk about my comics!
On a Sidenote...
I animated, shot and edited this video entirely on my phone, and created the stop motion animations with 135 tiny, hand drawn and watercolor-painted paper cutouts. Here they are (except for one heart, which I misplaced then found after I took this picture):
Risks and challenges
Once this project is funded, I'll be spending the following several months developing the narrative, lay out and design of the book. There is always a possibility that either the design process or the printing process will take longer than anticipated, but I don't expect that to happen.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
