A tribute comic to the old EC Horror style comics with four stories, fake ads, and captures of the fun of old style comics!
Independent Comics veterans Adam Talley, Robert Knight, Shane Logan and Mike Pascale are back and ready to scare the pants off of you!
Legends say that in 2006, Adam Talley (Sketchcard artist with Marvel, DC and Star Wars and independent artist/writer behind Anna Pocalypse and Pleasant Life) organized a group of his friends to do a comics anthology. This included Mike Pascale (Bru-Hed, Strange Kaddish, Nasti and others) and they set the comics world on fire with their first anthology: The Tales of Sequential Mayhem #1. The book sold out and has been long since out of print! They made and funded a sequel through Kickstarter last year and it was quite successful. Now they are back for a third round!
Tales of Sequential Mayhem #3 is a complete throwback in feel and style to the old EC HORROR comics of your youth. It comes with FOUR complete stories of horror/science fiction feel, fake ads for B Movies and Xray glasses, and pinups galore! The cover (drawn by Robert Knight) will look like a page from history with a faithful re-creation of the EC HORROR style. The interiors of the 24+ page comic will be a creepy grey to capture that haunting feel of the comics you knew and loved! The stories contained in the book are stuffed full of thrills, chills and guaranteed to scare you into reading it with the lights on!
The comic will have ads and posters for fake B Movies of the era in which the book takes its influence. The good ol' 1950's/60's will be alive once more in the crazy fake ads for films, recreating the feel of the old comics, as well as parodying them! The comic will also have fake and real ads for Xray goggles, Charles Atlas style exercise programs and other things that help you recreate the vibe in which comics had such things. Lastly, you will get some pinups of some scary monsters and ghoulish but gorgeous vixens as only our team know how to deliver!
The art is 99% completed, but the boys wanted to offer the book with some exclusive deals and help raise funding for it, so thus they are going for the Kickstarter program. Through this effort you will get things exclusive to this fundraiser and will not be recreated. Things such as Exclusive prints, original art, and even opportunities to get published ads in the book or be drawn in as a character! Independent comics are very important to the health of the industry and Mike, Robert, Shane and Adam want to give a tribute to the comics they fell in love with as kids.
Thank you and we appreciate your support!
Risks and challenges
There are no risks with the project's production. The book is 99% complete and in assemble/post-production. The only hurdle is paying for printing and getting it to the people. That is what this Kickstarter is for!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
