The Twilight Mattress Topper is for anyone who loves camping and being outdoors but hates being cold and uncomfortable while sleeping in a tent. It can be hard to enjoy outdoor adventures when you don't get a good night’s sleep.
The idea is simple. Use the heat reflective properties of emergency mylar blankets in a mattress topper, to prevent heat loss while sleeping.
Like emergency blankets, the Twilight reflects your body heat back towards you and warms you naturally, using radiant heat.
Unlike emergency blankets, the heat-reflective material in Twilight is soft, quiet, and machine- washable. Just place the Twilight on top of your air mattress to keep the cold air out, and your warmth in.
It’s time to ditch your mummy bags and snuggle up with your partner on an air mattress built for two.
Sleeping on an air mattress removes the constraints of your sleeping bag and allows you to move freely while you sleep. Using the Twilight thermal mattress topper, you can have you can have the warmth of your mummy bag and your freedom to sleep in any position you like.
Twilight was initially designed to be used on air mattresses while camping.
The mattress topper also works great on air mattresses or regular beds in your home--for anyone who is always cold (think your mother-in-law).
It can serve as an upgrade to the emergency blanket you keep in your car or boat, as a backup in your guest room, or even for a chilly evening on the beach.
Our proprietary layer of metallic insulation is lightweight, warm, and naturally reflects your body heat back towards you, preventing heat loss while you sleep.
Luxurious micro plush top provides extra warmth and softness.
The brushed polyester bottom adds softness and helps grip the top of your air mattress to prevent slippage.
As a bonus, the Twilight is durable, easily packable, and machine-washable.
Even Lucky dog loves snuggling on the Twilight.
The top fabric is polyester micro plush, while two inner layers are polyester insulation coated with a reflective metal foil, and the bottom layer is brushed polyester. The layers are quilted with a strong polyester thread and bound with a contrasting brushed polyester binding
We are a husband and wife team that have been adventuring all around the Pacific Northwest (and beyond) for the past 15 years. In more recent years we have made several extended camping trips with our young daughters to our national parks including Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park and Banff National Park (not ours but in our neighborhood). Our family loves camping and the great outdoors. We also love hiking, biking, paddling, exploring and sleeping under the stars
Together, we bring expertise in sourcing textiles, textile manufacturing, sewing and quilting, logistics, and customer service with the goal of delivering quality products to consumers.
Our mission is to enable people to enjoy the outdoors by providing a warm, comfortable sleep solution.
We need your support to fund our first production run of the Twilight thermal mattress topper. A significant amount of our own money has gone into developing, testing, and perfecting our product because we believe it will be a game-changer for people who like to camp.
Now we are asking for your contribution to make this a reality. Specifically, we need to raise $15,000 to cover the cost of manufacturing and shipping.
Adventure is calling!
• Is the Twilight noisy or crinkly?
Frequently Asked Questions:
Absolutely not. Our original prototype using emergency Mylar blankets as insulating layers, was very crinkly and noisy. But one of the innovative aspects of this product is the soft, machine-washable insulation coated in the reflective metal foil. You get the benefits of mylar, but in a soft, QUIET fabric.
• Could I get too warm using this product?
While this is theoretically possible, we (and our product testers) have never experienced a night’s sleep that was too warm with the Twilight. Even in the Pacific Northwest Summer.
• Can I use this in my hammock?
Yes! Because the Twilight is designed to be a layer directly under your body, it can be put down as a bottom layer in your hammock to prevent heat loss and keep you cozy all night.
• How do I secure the Twilight to my air mattress?
We went through several design iterations that used straps to secure the Twilight to an air mattress. However, the variation in air mattress design made using these difficult, at times. Ultimately, we chose to take advantage of the textured tops of all air mattresses by using a bottom fabric that was brushed, making it soft to the touch, but also grippy. The use of the brushed fabric is a simple and effective way to keep your Twilight mattress topper where it should be.
• Will there be other colors?
At this time, our first production run is set to include just the navy blue with bright red binding. However, if we have enough backers support this project, we could include other color combinations in subsequent production runs. We’ll see how this evolves throughout the campaign, but we would love to get your feedback on suggested colors!
• Shipping: When will I receive my Twilight?
We are conservatively planning to have all products shipped by February 2018. However, if we reach our goal early in the campaign, we will begin the first production run sooner, with delivery forecasted for late December/early January. Again, we will always be in touch with you to let you know exactly what to expect.
• Shipping: What shipping method/carrier will you use?
Is there tracking info? We will ship your mattress topper via UPS ground shipping, complete with tracking information. This is subject to change based on pricing, but you will receive your product within 5-7 business days.
• Shipping: Can I pick up my reward from the Alki office in Seattle, or a local warehouse?
No, at this early stage, the easiest and most reliable way for us to get our product to you while managing our inventory, is to ship the Twilight directly to you.
