Lone Russian is a film about a Russian soldier stationed in Siberia during the Cold War era. The lone Russian soldier is in charge of manning one of mother Russia’s missile silos. As a result of the isolation and comically grim propaganda posters which surround him, the soldier slowly looses control of his mind and reality. His breakdown is a result of separation from his family, friends and girlfriend. He experiences an animated dream where the grim propaganda characters come to life and ravage his girlfriend. The soldier is driven over the edge and is convinced that America is going to attack Russia. As a result he is forced to retaliate the only way he knows, with grim results. The film is a black and white silent drama, comedy, fantasy and character study. The film is an interesting visual experience
We've completed principle photography of this film and need to finish the post production. There are several aspects of post that needs to be completed. The animated sequence will require an experienced animator, the score will require original music, (I want to include electric guitars, drums and mandolins to get a mix of folk Russian music and rock) and there are a few SFX shots that are unfinished and will be the rug that ties the room together.
Two other aspects of post that are needed are the miniatures for the establishing shots, and color correction to make the black and white footage more high contrast. If you help us reach our goal of $2500.00 we'll finally be able to finish this beautiful film. Thank you for your support!
