Villains & Henchmen! Design Contest #1 - Become a Hero!
Good evening, Villains & Henchmen! fans!
Today we're excited to announce our very first Player Design Contest, where one of our fans will win the opportunity to appear in V&H! as a Hero of his or her own creation!
Here's how it's going to work: To enter, you have to propose a Hero "type" (like the Super-Spy or the Gadgeteer, for example). Ideally, the Hero you submit should be a new type (one not already present in the game), but if you have a cool idea for a Hero we already have in V&H!, that's fine - we're always okay with creating variant Heroes and such!
Along with the type, explain what you think are that Hero's core traits - like Super Strength, or Telepathy, or what have you (this is important, since the defining traits will be reflected in the card's mechanics). Ideally, you should also suggest the Hero's hit point total, and optionally you can even suggest the Hero's in-game mechanics to further strengthen your submission!
We'll be running the contest until the end of September, at which point we'll review the entries and decide which one we think is the strongest submission!
The person who submits the winning entry will be listed in the credits of the game as a "Guest Designer", and will have their likeness drawn onto the card for their Hero, forever immortalizing their stalwart, heroic visage until the end of time!
In order to submit your entry, go to our website's Contact page and use the message form to send us the details of your Hero concept. Be sure to include as much information as possible; we won't be contacting people for clarification, so the more information you include, the better your chances of winning!
Terms and Conditions: Maximum of one entry per person. All entries must be submitted before 11:59pm PST on Friday September 30th; entries received after this time will not be considered for the contest.
All submissions become the intellectual property of Ravensdale Publishing, Inc., and no entrant will be entitled to monetary compensation for use of their idea in Villains & Henchmen! or any future related products.
However, because we know it would suck to suggest a cool idea and have us rip it off, if we later decide to make use of any submitted concepts we guarantee we will contact the entrant for permission, and provide design credit on the website and in the rulebook of future printings.
Furthermore, the winner of the contest forfeits all right to monetary compensation for the use of their image or likeness in relation to Villains & Henchmen! and related products.
However, should the winner at any time desire to have their likeness removed from the game or related products, Ravensdale Publishing, Inc. hereby promises to make every reasonable effort to do so for future printings of the game and other products.
Finally, Ravensdale Publishing, Inc. reserves the right to disqualify a winning entry at any time, for any reason (such as requesting that an inappropriate or offensive picture be used for inclusion into the card art). Should this occur, the runner-up entry will be selected as the winner.
