The stage from the live show...

I wanted to give backers of this book an update on how well it's doing and to thank you again for your support of it all that time ago.

First: late last year the book got me invited onto the Stuff You Missed in History Class podcast to talk about. It's one of the most listened to podcasts on the Internet and it shot the book onto bestseller lists on Amazon and the feedback has been great.

If you're interested in listening to those episodes, you can do it here. We recorded them live at New York Comic-Con last week. You'll hear me tell stories about how the book came together and stories from the book. It's a great lot of fun and since you all made it possible, I thought you'd like to listen in.

I would also like to invite you to head to Amazon and Goodreads to leave a review of the book if you enjoyed it. It would help me let other people know about the book.

As for other things going on, there are two different Patreon campaigns that you should check out if you liked this project. The first is my personal Patreon campaign which is subsidizing my writing of short stories. You can visit that page here.

The other is a Silence in the Library Patreon that will be curating short stories for a monthly e-magazine and the funds will be used to pay the writers. The first issue should be coming by fall and it will have some great surprises in it, so lock in your support now.

Thanks again for everything you did to help me get A Children's Illustrated History of Presidential Assassination off the ground and all you continue to do to support me as a writer and Silence in the Library as a publisher. --Bryan Young

Our MONSTERS Anthology is LIVE!

Posted by Silence in the Library Publishing (Creator)

We're excited to announce that the latest project from Silence in the Library, MONSTERS, is live. MONSTERS is an anthology featuring illustrations by David Montgomery and stories by Aaron Allston, Gail Z. Martin, Michael A. Stackpole, Timothy Zahn, Janine K. Spendlove, Bryan Young, Kelly Swails, Maxwell Alexander Drake, Dylan Birtolo, Tracy Chowdhury, Aaron Rosenberg, Ronald T. Garner, Jennifer Brozek ...and others.

While you’ll find plenty of traditional horror stories in this anthology, you’ll also find that many of our authors decided to approach the genre in a different manner.

A Greek hero faces the brute strength of a cyclops with only his wit - but is he really a hero, and is the cyclops really a brute?

A demon who can only curse people if doing so will make them happy. If his nature is to curse, how can he solve his dilemma?

You'll find stories like these and more in the pages of MONSTERS. We've used this anthology to ask some intriguing questions.

What would the traditional horror story look like told from the monster’s point of view? What is the relationship between monster and victim? Is the monster really the monster, and is the victim really the victim?

We've also got a lot of great stretch goals, and some awesome extra rewards for our first 200 backers.

So please go take a look at MONSTERS by clicking on this link or the image above. It'll haunt you if you don't.

Last Day of Our Current Kickstarter: Pride and Prejudice Illustrated by Janet Lee!

Posted by Silence in the Library Publishing (Creator)

This is it!

We're in the final day of our Kickstarter for Pride and Prejudice Illustrated by Janet Lee, and with 13 hours left, we're only $1000 away from our $20,000 goal.

Most of of you will know Janet Lee's work from her Eisner Award winning graphic novel Return of the Dapper Men or from the Marvel Classics comics Emma and Northanger Abbey. Silence in the Library has teamed with Janet to produce a truly beautiful and collectible illustrated edition of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

This book will feature beautiful illustrations:

And classic bindings:

Our goal is to make the book as accessible as possible, and to that end we have created a wide range of editions that will fit any budget.

Well, What Do You Want Me to Do?

As we mentioned earlier, we're only $1000 (or about 5% of goal) from funding. This project means a lot to everyone involved, and we'd love to see it pass the goal line before funding ends. Please go take a look at the project by clicking on this link (or by clicking on the project image at the top of the page).

What If I'm Just Not That Into Jane Austen?

If Jane Austen is not your cup of tea, there's a good chance that someone you know loves her work. We'd really appreciate it if you could spread the word. Whether through social media, word of mouth, or pony express, however you can aid us in letting people know about the project will be a huge help.

Thanks so much for your time and your willingness to help us get the word out about this project.
