I'm DM Dunn. I'm a husband, father, USMC Veteran, geek, nerd and of course a dreamer.
After years of wanting to play D&D, I finally realized no one ever knocked on my door asking me to join their game. So I overcame my shyness and about a year ago I found a couple of groups to join. I also discovered the best way to always have a game, is to DM a game.
I became a crafting DM, making things the minis could interact with. I then wanted to also make things the players could interact with. One of these things was Healing Potion Dice Bottles. After lots of nudging from my players I asked my local Game Store if they wanted to sell them. They did, and sold out after the 1st week. Now I'm offering them to You.
My objective is to fund my D&D habit. I would like to build a custom gaming table, convert my garage into a comfortable gaming space, buy many more minis. Depending on the amount of backing I would like to have my mini's professionally painted (probably by some of you).
I love D&D and want to continue sharing this love with my players, and you.
We now have our dragon on the top of each jar!
He can be a simple decoration. Or, he can be a magical protector. Should someone else try to open your potion maybe he hits them with a Fire Bolt or bites them for 2d6 piercing damage.
Supported by YouTube superstar DM Scotty, from "The DM's Craft"
I would like to thank DM Scotty for inspiring me to start my journey of being a crafting DM.
These Healing Potion Dice Bottles were even inspired by him, with some modifications.
Thank you Scotty.
DM Scotty from the DM's Craft just sent me a quote that I would like to share.
" Hello DM Scotty here, I wanted to say how much I really like these healing potion dice bottles inspired by one of my crafts. DM Dunn has taken my idea and added extra touches that really make this a visual and tactile joy at your gaming table. As we all know, a potion a day keeps the death saves away."
Stretch Goal #2
We hit $6,000. Now we have new color options.
These will be available for $9/each, as add on items. You must back a pledge level of one Healing Potion Bottle, or more.
They will not have labels or dice. This allows you to choose how to use them.
Is it mana, poison, Dragon's breath, or a potion of your design? You get to choose the name, number and type of dice.
It will include:
- bottle with the color of your choice inside (Red is not an option here)
- cork lid with dragon on it (from reaching 1st Stretch Goal)
- black colored twine around the neck with dragon charm
Just add $9, or $9 x how many you want to add, to your pledge.
We will confirm with a survey after the campaign, how many of which color you want.
In the mean time, please let us all know in the chat what color/s you like. We need to know which ones are most popular.
Color Options: "Red is not available for these add on's"
Note: For some reason the Teal does not look as teal in the photo as it does in person.
You now have more options for add on color jars.
As long as you are backing at least 1 Healing Potion Dice Bottle, then for $9/each you can add a color (of your choice) bottle as pictured above. These come with no dice and no labels.
For $11/each you can get a color (of your choice) bottle that is mostly full of one color. This does not leave room for you to add dice. It does make a great visual for potions that don't use dice, like "potion of spider climb" and so on.
For $13 you can choose up to 3 colors for your full add on jar.
These are great for representing the mixing of two colors. Such as Blue on the bottom with Magenta on top. In the middle is purple, which looks like the other two mixed together.
$20,000 Stretch Goal
Free Bottle Bag for each of your Healing Potion Dice Bottles.
If you get one bottle, then you get one bag. If you get a set of 12, then you get 12 bags.
The final design is still subject to change. However, you will be getting a velvet bag with satin lining.
These will make it easier to transport your bottles as well as provide a place to safely store any dice you are not using while at the table.
Let's all rally these final 10 days and hit the $20,000 mark and get these bags for everyone!
Risks and challenges
Some of the supplies I'm using can take up to 6 weeks to arrive. I don't have control of this.
Once I have my supplies each bottle is hand made after my day job and on weekends.
I respect each and every one of you and will try to produce and ship the bottles in a timely manner.
If we have the positive situation of high demand for these bottles, there may come a point where I will need to stagger shipping dates based on first ordered first shipped.
Delivery times may get extended.
We have lowered the prices of the bottles in order to help accommodate for shipping costs.
