"Dakota 38" November 2011 update

Hello All,

I wanted to send out an update to everyone for "Dakota 38" as it's been a year since you all generously contributed to the final push for the film. Since that point we've been working hard on the soundtrack and bringing together all of the final pieces to finish the film. Last month we printed out 10 finished test DVDs from discmakers and we're now testing them out to make sure there aren't any errors or play back issues with DVD players etc. We are also working with an IP Law Clinic from American University next month who is volunteering their time to help us with some final copyright and permission elements pertaining to some of the footage and a few songs in the film. We're hoping that by late January or February of 2012 we'll be able to send you all a finished DVD of "Dakota 38". We really appreciate all of your patience, and we're looking forward to sharing the film with everyone as soon as it is ready! Once again its an honor to have you all part of the family surrounding "Dakota 38".

All the best from 14 inches of fresh snow in Maine :)

-Silas

Thank you so much for my copy of Dakota 38 which I received some weeks ago but haven’t yet watched because our DVD player refuses to play anything! But as soon as I do watch it I will let you know my thoughts, I am really excited about the thought of being able to watch it at last.

Take care all of you, and many congratulations on your finished project. I am so glad that I got the chance to be part of it.

This is thrilling news! I had no idea you would be sending out DVDs.... When you do, I absolutely want to pay for mine - I wasn't looking for a hand out when I contributed, and I have no problem with paying for the DVD. Congratulations to all of you, and thank you for letting us be a part of this.
