The artwork of Eva Newsom - making prints
We are collecting the artwork of Eva Newsom, a 100 year-old artist from the American midwest, with the aim of creating prints.
Eva Newsom has had a century to watch America change and to paint and draw what she has seen. Born in 1918, Eva's family moved all over the US during the Great Depression and she finally settled in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. She is perhaps best known for her work at Biblical Gardens, Wisconsin Dells, WI. Many of her paintings have been sold or given away over the years and even of those works whose where-abouts are known, there only exists a single, original version. Our aim is to collect her works and bring them into an artwork printer where prints can be made available to anyone interested in owning their own copy. Details of how prints can be owned after the completion of this kickstarter campaign will be forthcoming.
If you think you have an original painting or drawing, please contact us so that we can discuss the logistics of printing your piece. Please note that Eva's maiden name is Gragert, and she would have signed her works as either Eva Gragert or Eva Newsom, depending on when she created the piece.
Risks and challenges
We are hopeful that we will be able to recover some of Eva's work which has previously been sold off over the past century. We appreciate any help we can get through social media in reaching individuals who may own works.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
