Thank you for checking out my kickstarter project. For the last few years, music has been on the back burner while I tended to my little brood of Youngmans. My brood is growing beautifully and is now freeing me to get out there and make some music again.
I'm so excited to work with Andrew Osenga on a new record that is all about the expectations we either place on ourselves or feel like others place upon us. I feel it especially as a mom--Someone is doing something better than I'm doing it. Someone is giving more than I do. Someone is a better mom than I am. It's so easy to see what everyone else is doing and think that we just don't measure up. We get lost in our long list of good intentions instead of making the simple choice to be intentional and purposeful in everything we do. The songs on this record tell the story of my struggle to stop being a girl with good intentions and be the girl who lives with intention and a single eye to God no matter where I am or what I am doing.
As a completely independent artist, I get the joy of making the records I want to make. On the flip side of that is that I also get the joy of paying for every bit of it along the way. I've set my goal at $8,000, but when it's all said and done I will need about $18,000 to make and print the record and create all of the fun extras like t-shirts, an e-book, and (hopefully) my first music video.
Check out the different levels of giving on the right of your screen. I hope there is something there that strikes your fancy. Thanks again for perusing my Kickstarter campaign. And a super, super, duper thank you for helping me make this record!
Peace to you,
