Stretch Goal added 2/23/16 - LAST WEEK STRETCH GOAL! Now that we are fully funded we are adding a variant cover stretch goal at $9,000 for the last week of the Kickstarter! The interior team of Jethro Morales and Marie Enger are going to create a limited variant cover of Chasing Hitler #1. If we hit the stretch goal, the variant cover will be added to any backer package over $35 at NO CHARGE. So anyone backing the Bleeding Cool package or higher will get BOTH the regular Greg Smallwood cover AND the Jethro/Marie cover.
WHO AM I?:
My name is Hayley Nitz. I am a 16 year old high school Junior. I am a Silver Award recipient Ambassador Girl Scout, avid reader, and fan of comic book movies.
The concept for Chasing Hitler started in American History class when we learned Hitler’s body was never identified after World War II. I found it interesting and started playing "what if he survived" with my Dad. That lead to research and seeing where Hitler could have gone to escape Germany and how. I started crafting a plausible fictional story based on actual accounts.
The story starts late April 1945. The war is almost over in Europe as the Allies close in on Berlin. Hitler is attempting to hold the Third Reich together, but he painfully realizes Germany has lost. He decides to go into hiding and attempt to build a Fourth Reich. Enter our main characters – Major Alex Taylor and Major Conner Walsh– sent by the US and British to confirm his death. When they aren’t convinced Hitler actually died at the Fuhrer Bunker, the chase begins.
WHY A COMIC?
Since I am not a writer, we turned to my Uncle, Jai Nitz. He has been a comic book writer for 15 years. I asked him if this looked like an interesting idea and he felt it was worth a shot.
Uncle Jai helped assemble a team of professional artists to bring the the story to fruition:
Penciler Jethro Morales (Green Hornet), colorist Marie Enger (Pistolwhip), letterer Chris Crank (Toshiro), and cover artist Greg Smallwood (Moon Knight).
I have been selling garage sale items and doing odd jobs to raise a modest starting budget. We have a complete story written, a cover, and some of the art. Our goal is $6,600 to cover the expenses of paying the creative team, printing the book, and distributing it to the world. We think we have some very attractive giveaway items to fit every budget. We hope you will support this idea and spread the word.

Risks and challenges
Our only risk or challenge is funding. We have started production of the comic with my initial budget, but need Kickstarter to raise the funds to complete the project.
The talent team are all professionals in comics and our deadlines are reasonable.
Delays in shipping and printing may occur due to unforeseen elements outside our control. If that happens, I will communicate in a timely manner so everyone is informed and up to date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
