Secular Women Work on the Air

Posted by Stephanie Zvan (Creator)

Thank you to everyone who's already pledged to help make our conference a reality. We're on track to fund fully, with plenty of enticements still to be made in the coming weeks. Even if you can't afford to pledge or to attend, you can help make Secular Women Work a success by sharing our Kickstarter on social media and talking about why it's important to you.

If you're not sold yet, there are a couple of podcasts out that may help persuade you. In their introduction to Bi Any Means this week, Trav Mamone recommends us as one of a small number of "non-shitty" conferences coming up. We'll take that as the compliment it is coming from Trav.

Also, Monette Richards is appearing on Serious Inquiries Only this week. Much of her interview is talking about the recent harassment and assault allegations against Lawrence Krauss, but at about one hour and twelve minutes, she talks about the conference and why an event like this is so important in a movement that's waffled on its responses to harassment.

We hope to do more appearances soon to talk about why we're so passionate about Secular Women Work. We'll keep you up to date on where you can hear more from us.

Btw, I learned about your work from this post on PZ Myers' blog:

I hope it's inspired other people to donate too.
