Have a question?
There is no excuse for the lack of updates and they are not optional. Authors must communicate with backers relatively frequently.
I saw that Exordium Games are still active on their social so I would like to know why are they ignoring this project.
It's projects like this that make me wish Kickstarter would add an 'x' for the 'got it' column, so backers could separate the 'still coming eventually, maybe' from the 'there's no hope, and no point in checking again'.
I had a very bad feeling at the beginning of the campaign.. funded in April 2015 and "estimated" delivery date of December 2015, didn't sit well with me, so i only pledged $1, this is the reason i keep away from campaigns that say they will release within a few months. At least now i can cross this off my list.
I have patience for projects that communicate. I have patience for projects that take years longer than they should have, but show progress along the way.
I have no patience for projects like this where the creators do not reply to comments and do not update for months at a time.
I am requesting a refund. In the mean time, I would suggest that everyone else interested in a refund begin posting here. If we have enough people we can launch a class action lawsuit. In the end, we won't see much of the money they owe us by going that route, but we would be sure to make it clear that this type of behavior is not ok.
It has now been 9 months since your last update.
Come on guys.
The developer logged in back in early February. A lack of any kind of communication at that time does sort of say 'I've given up and don't want to say so'.
and now this project seems dead, time to contact kick starter about hounding these guys for accountability
This project is abandoned, last update in june 2015. Do you understand that your absence, when you get late for delivery, is unacceptable ? Delays happens but complete absence of creator, that destroy all trust backers can have. 7 months of absence...
I've been wondering what's going on, too. It's been about six months again.
When you tell us "soon", you should keep your words.
June 3 : We will do our best to have more regular updates from now on. It would be a shame not to share with you how the project is moving on. Especially since we are very proud of it. You should be too, because without you it would not have been possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Come on !!! 4 months without a single update or comment. I even forgot this project existed. Please guys, talk to us.
Hi. Still me. You did news...once and you stopped.
Could you give us some more please ? Is there a demo in the way ? For us to get our hands on something and you to get feedback. Would be a win-win case
Really sorry for us taking so long. The project has definitely proven to be quite tricky. We recently lost two programmers which very much slowed certain aspects of production. We are working on the update and will share it soon.
The project is going forward, with better quality than we initially envisioned which also makes it slower than we anticipated.
Will share more information soon. Thank you for being so patient.
Is this dead ? The project is really late and there are no update for 6 months. Should we begin taking action ? I just want information, time projection and a good explication. As a backer I understand setback but I do not accept lack of informations. Thank you.
looks like everything still moving, as you guys are responding, but with no updates for the last 5 months or so it'd be nice to see some info/updates coming out soon!
Oh yes :) big ones. We are well on the way into a couple of the environments. Update soon.
Any updates? :)
We are preparing the update and the backer surveys for the initial rewards. Should be out next week.
Dear Tracey Craig,
we're glad you asked that question! :) We don't often get a chance to talk about us as a studio, so here's some interesting tidbits: Exordium currently employs 12 people, both full time and part time and we have 4 more freelance professionals helping us out. When we started out, there were only 3 of us working and we kind of knew that we didn't have the experience or the finances to jump straight into making the kind of games we wanted. That is why we started out with a couple of smaller projects, at least smaller compared to Nephil's Fall before we launched the Kickstarter campaign. This enabled us to grow to our current size, but more importantly, it taught us a great deal about the way people make games, and about how we as a team make games. This is also a protip for all budding developers: it's great to listen to other people, but at some point you have to grit your teeth and find your own workflow.
As for your other question, we're currently wrapping up a couple of projects other than Nephil's Fall. Work on both these projects was coming to an end as we were finishing the Nephil's Fall Kickstarter campaign and what remains to be done on these games is more or less outside of our studio at the moment (UX/QA testing, voiceovers, etc.). Another protip: if you are planning on doing work on parallel projects, get a project manager! Don't get A project manager, get a GREAT project manager - they will save your hide and your finances over and over and over again! :)
If you have any more questions, do let us know!
Kisses and hugs,
Are you actually working on other games as well as Nephil's Fall? how big is your team?
Hey guys, please don't worry. You are right that the time from our last update us unusually long. We have been working on many aspects of the game and doing a lot of iteration in order to get the best possible stuff into it. We have been experimenting with level concept art, level design, and mechanics, expanding the story and narrative and finding the best animation methods. Nephil's Fall is definitely happening and we will show you all the stuff we've been working on soon. Please hang in there with us a bit longer.
If you check out their Facebook page you can see they are working on other games. I sent them a message on here but don't have a Facebook account. Could someone who use's it send a message their as well to maybe get an update.
I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope this project's money isn't being used to help finish these other games. They seem to be working on them all at the same time.
I hope this wasn't some huge April Fools joke, considering the ending date...
No updates, at all?
@Christopher - thanks a lot for your support and the compliments :)
@Ja Powers - thanks for helping us out
Fall of the final night.
Just found your project, looks good!
I look forward to this. I hope you get the next stretch goal, too.
I upgraded my pledge. I am looking forward to the digital art book.
Beautiful illustrations and art!
We still might reach the first stretchgoal!
Woot! Just upgraded my pledge. Thanks!
Dear David, thank you so much for your support. Since we really hope your boys will enjoy the game we just added the quadrology tier :)
I just came over here because of a shout-out from Hive Jump. I'm excited for the game, and just pledged for the Never Alone level. I know it's late in the campaign, but would it be possible to add a pledge level with three or four copies of the game? I have two sons, and would like to get copies for myself and both of them. Yes, I can just buy an additional copy when the game releases, but I want to bump up your campaign numbers. :)
Very inventive!! Best of luck
Great project, congrats!
Done, and just few days before the end, great, missed last few updates though because of other campaign but will recheck everything
@flesk, the beta version is planned to be available for PC, Mac and Linux.
Will the beta be available for Linux or just for Windows?
Super project. Good luck with this.
I'm excited about this game.
I love the sacrifice mechanic, wondering if it really changes level progression that much, I do not recall any game that I have played with this feature.
Things looking to be moving really great, nice updates! See some familiar faces in here among backers :)
Very nice, story and campaign.
@Ex: a regular voice, perhaps a females voice# batman and Morgan Freeman voices are so overly done (my personal opinion)
Just backed, hoping this will make it to ps4 and vita, this looks amaaaaazing
Sign me up I'm ready to play. Awesome artwork!
@Dablue - what kind of voice would you prefer to follow Nephil around?
Cool art, cool premise, but why the batman voice? This sort of games shouldn't take itself so serious ;)
