This past week.
Kickstarter Update #3
My project has been up and running for 8 days now. I have 8 project backers who have pledged money to help with publishing and I couldn't be happier. I am getting great feedback about my videos, website and sample chapter. The kickstarter project will be ending on June 11th, 12 days from now, and I need to keep reaching more people.
This past week, I have focused on correcting issues found in my draft. By the end of the kickstarter project I will have corrected everything I can and be ready to send the editor my manuscript.
How will the process work?
Once the book is sent to the editor, I will make a final decision on which company to hire for the cover design and find an illustrator for chapter art. The editor and I will work closely on making structural changes to the text, eliminating unnecessary passages, fixing grammar issues and arranging the chapters.
The editing process should take between 4-8 weeks. By this time, the cover designer should have 2-3 sample designs, which my backers will be able to vote on and choose the final cover. I will also be writing my final thoughts chapter, about the author section and a synopsis of the book for the inside cover.
When editing and cover design are completed, the finished manuscript will go to a formatting company to be organized for all Ebook (.azw, .epub, etc.) and print formats. The final step will be uploading everything to all Ebook retailers (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Ibooks, etc.) and setting up a small print run.
Where can you find more information and updates?
If you haven't visited my web page (http://www.RonaldHuffmanDailey.com), take a look at the sample chapter and get more information about the book. You can view all 12 chapter topics and read more about the project. I will be posting updates regularly on my Facebook author fan page (http://www.facebook.com/RonaldHuffmanDailey), so “like” it to get the latest news. As always, all feedback is welcome and appreciated.
