PROSPEKT presents, in association with AMERICAN LUMENARY
LIKE LAMBS is written and directed by Ted Marcus, award-winning filmmaker of THE END and INFERNUM. After a cast member bowed out days before production, Ted stepped in to the play the role of Sebastian, the film's villain.
LIKE LAMBS is John Kassab's second feature film as producer, following on from the success of the hit documentary 12 O'CLOCK BOYS. John's previous work includes the sound design of Cannes/Sundance favorite DEEPER THAN YESTERDAY, Oscar©-winning animation THE LOST THING and internet sensation FULL CIRCLE.
ABOUT THE FILM
LIKE LAMBS is made by passionate artists and lovers of cinema. We have poured our hearts and souls into this project for the best of three years and now we find ourselves so very close to the finish line. Family and friends have given as much as they can to get us this far, and now we are reaching out to Kickstarter. With your help, we can complete work on several expensive post production processes which will finally enable us to bring the film to the world.
Your financial support will go toward:
- Music licensing
- Sound mixing
- Color grading
- Film Festivals
LIKE LAMBS stars Liam Aiken, Ted Marcus, Justin Chon, Connor Paolo, Chanelle Peloso, Lindsay Keys, David Dayan Fisher, John Joseph Gallagher, Godfrey and Kale Browne. It was filmed in a Gothic castle in the woods of Massachusetts by a crew of mostly first time feature filmmakers including Patrick Jaewon Lee, Daniel Yankiver, David Lombroso (co-producers), Nate Tam and Solomon Belfort (Editors), Lou Gruber (Line Producer), Parker Tolifson (Director of Photography), Johanna B Kelly (Production Designer) and Albulena Borovci (Costume Designer). We went outside the studio system and made a movie, shooting on glorious 35mm for less money than it would have taken to shoot digitally and working with the camera they used to film JAWS in the 70s.
That golden decade has been a great inspiration to us as we set about making a film of anarchic, revolutionary qualities that seeks to express some of the rage and dissatisfaction felt by millions of people at the state of our economy and our government. Bullied and bribed by corporations, our congress stands at record disapproval rates.
The US government is at catastrophic levels of debt while the top 0.1% globally are now in possession of more than 90% of the world's wealth.
As generations of young people are held in privately-run prisons for minor, often racially-tinged crimes, white-collar thieves of trillions and saboteurs of the environment are celebrating on their yachts with Dom Perignon and foie gras. This is an issue that transcends the divided political conversation of left vs right. LIKE LAMBS asks, if these shadowy figures are responsible by their own greed and illegal activity for a tightening of global systems which place many governments and peoples in turmoil, then why shouldn't they pay to fix the catastrophes they've created?

Risks and challenges
Why entrust your support to LIKE LAMBS?
• LIKE LAMBS was made with the collective love and film making passion of 50 young first time feature filmmakers who dedicated themselves to bringing this story to the world.
• When people said we were insane to even think about shooting on 35mm, we called up film houses all around the country and were blessed with with the left over film stock from 12 YEARS A SLAVE and WOLF OF WALL STREET which carried us through production at a fraction of the budget for a standard Digital package.
• After almost 3 years making LIKE LAMBS, we are now only weeks away from completion.
Our collection of stories is getting so large and outlandish sometimes we can't even believe they're true, so we are thrilled to begin creating new ones with you, the great philanthropists and benefactors of the Kickstarter Community.
Thank you very much for your support
