About

Project ** GOLIATH ** is completely separate from the museum community. We are going where the museum community cannot [limited space/ inefficient control over costs/ restricted from competition with the private sector/ allocating funds away from research].

We are attempting to raise funding to acquire access to the construction of dinosaur institutes on a massive scale beyond anything ever seen in this science. We centre our approach on the exhibits portion only .. since museums simply don't have the space or can't spare the staff and funding. It's actually a very good compliment to them. It's the one area that museums are quite reluctant to spare research staff and funding.

In our video .. we demonstrate how we can do these exhibits for approximately 1% of museum costs. There is also an architect/ construction company in the U.S.A. known as Big Spans Inc. who are positioned to develop the buildings necessary for this project. Their design and construction methods make our project ideal to blend with. Rather than spending 15 months to raise this goliath structure .. their newly developed techniques allow for very rapid deployment within 6-8 weeks.

What's more is the cost.  At 1% of present construction costs .. these goliath structures will become the foundation for an entirely seaparate nature oriented community .. the ** GOLIATH Community **

It is only necessary to fund and erect 1 single building ** GOLIATH **. This single building is the equivalent of a $350 million conventional institute of similar size. There are no basement floor foundations needed for such a structure .. no pylons or internal walls have to be erected .. only landscaping is required. Once completed .. it will be opened to the public. Monies from that will pay for the construction of 7-13 such structures .. thus .. creating a massive ARRAY called the  ** GOLIATH ARRAY **. That single array will cover an area of 1.0 - 1.47 million sq.ft. when fully expanded [2.1 million sq.ft with the Parking]. This array is the equivalent of an institute costing just under $5 billion. Impossible to build if we relied on conventional standards of building design and construction.

Once accomplished .. the goal will be to build other such arrays throughout North America. It is the low costs and development of both the structures and our new crafting techniques which circumvent the prohibitively expensive exhibit and construction techniques presently the backbone of exhibits in gov't museums.

The museum world also has lots of artists and many artists are only part-time contractors [which we would immediately bring into the project].

As for land [acreage] to start this goliath project on .. we will NOT be involved in the purchase of realestate. We don't have to. It's all about making the deal. It is after all .. an art/ design project first and foremost. No backer funding is to be spent on realestate since that would entirely defeat the purpose of what we are trying to achieve here.

So .. there are 2 separate approaches to this.

A/  Government

City and State/ Provincial governments are always on the lookout for any projects that enhance tourism in their vicinity. If the project is large enough .. global attention seeking enough .. gov'ts. generally will market them world-wide and sometimes supply the land for these projects in exchange for a small royalty from them.

B/  Private Land Ownership

The bigger a project generally .. the more people it will attract. Our project would be constructed on the outskirts of a metropolitan city of over 1 million pop.  The Royal Tyrrell museum .. which is 1/5 th the size of ** GOLIATH ** and 1/50 th the size of our projected array is located across from the town of Nacmine and only some 6 kms. from Drumheller. Over 400,000 visitors enter the museum each summer. That's anywhere from 150 - 250 thousand cars. Charging only $10.oo/ car for all day parking, allows the project to trade PARKING for LAND. The project would eventually require 1/7 th of a section of land. A fairly wealthy section of land [640 acres] can bring in around $500,000/yr.  1/7 th of a section = approximately $70,000./yr. Parking alone would render such an exhibit $ 1.5 - 2.5 million/ yr. Any land owner could ask for a % of parking revenues in exchange for "free lease".  And remember .. Drumheller is only about 12,000 pop.  ** GOLIATH ** will never be built outside an area of less than 1 million pop.

Risks and challenges

There are challenges and risks to every great project.

The inherent challenges here in this project are ;

1 - Time needed to train artists/ crafters
2 - Choosing the best location for construction and visitor numbers.
3 - Leasing the food court [10 kiosks] in such a way that they fully cover
the annual maintenance costs of the structure.
4 - Balancing parking revenue to cover all operations costs
5 - Hiring the right marketing, personnel and business managers
6 - Clearing all building codes and safety regulations
7 - As ** GOLIATH ** is a Dinosaur Exhibit institute .. hiring the right
celebrity to MC this grand opening event.
8 - Organizing the Opening Gala Event
9 - Model Mock-up
10 - Political/ business community
11 - Project v.s. rewards package
12 - Monies acquired that exceed the ** GOLIATH ** project

How we tend to face these critical areas ;

1 - The training process is 2-fold. The rewards are created through a mold/casting system that will take only a day or 2 to train artists on once each sculptured piece is created. The other part of the artistic process is the actual sculpturing which will clearly be in my hands. No training necessary since I've been in this field all my life. The "paper" skills are not to be applied just to the animals but to the flora as well. The entire process lends itself well to mass production.

2. - Location .. location .. location. It goes without saying that location for such a massive project as this is crucial. The R.T.M.P. [Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology] is located just 6 km. outside of Drumheller [pop. 12,000]. The R.T.M.P. is located some 90 miles [124 km] from the nearest major pop. center.Yet ..the RTMP pulls in 400,0000 visitors/ summer to view its exhibits [with its major centre piece exhibits remaining unchanged for over 25 years]. ** Project Goliath ** is to be built outside a major pop. centre of 1 million. Since it would be the most massive ever attempted .. it is unlikely to bring in less than the R.T.M.P. Furthermore .. ** GOLIATH ** will ultimately be expanded from 3 to 10 major galleries later. Each gallery would be created every 4 months and last up to a year or more. This constitutes a super- gallery being rotated every year. We envision close to 1 million visitors/ yr. with many being repeat visitors. Therefore .. the location can be virtually anywhere so long as it is within short driving range from a large pop. centre of at least 1 million.

3. - When I visit a museum .. I am off-times struck by how sterile the
cafeterias are. They remind me of hospital cafeterias. No imagination .. and that is just not us. Instead of a cafeteria .. we will construct a Food
Court of some 10 restaurant kiosks that will blend in with the the exhibit's
environment. There are 2 reasons for this. Ten kiosks give our visitors lots of culinary choices in order to compete with outside eateries in the city core. This in turn allows substantial monies to be spent within the exhibit kiosks. In return .. the lease that we charge the kiosks go towards the annual maintenance costs of ** GOLIATH **.

The 2nd reason is that it would be more preferable to the public to actually walk into a primeval forest and sit down to a picnic rather than the sterile environs of a cafeteria. People are more likely to stay and have a relaxed leisurely meal at your exhibit than venture elsewhere for a meal.

4. - It is the parking revenue that covers the operations costs of
** GOLIATH **.

The 400,000 visitors to the R.T.M.P. each year constitutes 100-200,000
parked cars to this museum annually. Most visitors take 30-60 minutes to go through an exhibit .. 30-60 minutes for a leisurely meal and
conversation with friends. That's 1-2 hrs. on average. We would charge
$10.oo/ car for all day parking. That gives visitors a relaxed, unhurried day. We are predicting between 200 - 500,000 vehicles to this massive exhibit annually = $1.5 - 2.5 million revenue from estimated traffic volume. It is this parking revenue which also secures the long term survivability of ** GOLIATH **. Entrance fees will probably be in the neighbourhood of $10.oo per visitor to begin. As more massive institutional-sized galleries are added, packaged prices come into effect.

5. - Once established .. ** GOLIATH ** will quickly acquire a business
manager .. and soon after .. a marketing manager to further increase the visibility of ** GOLIATH ** world-wide through mass media and social
media. In addition .. a personnel manager is also required to set up
programs for mass involvement of school children throughout the major
metropolitan area adjacent to any ** GOLIATH **.

6. - Big Spans in the U.S. is our prime potential partner in all of this. Their designs are an integral part of this project. Since their architectural firm has been in the business of artistic renderings and solid delivery of
finished products for some years now .. they would become our senior
partners in this. Their constructions pass all North American building
codes and as such also dictate to our group [which you are an integral part of .. by the way] .. all safety regulation codes. We are very confident about Big Spans ability to deliver and deliver on time.

7. - It may seem minor to some but .. as perfectionists .. it matters a great deal to us. To achieve global coverage on the night of the gala reception .. our thoughts .. would be to see if Sam Neil of the Jurassic Park trilogy would reprise his role of Dr. Alan Grant to M.C. the opening. He would then .. after dinner .. lead the audience through the massive exhibit .. one group at a time.

Why would he do this ??

The contract would be extremely lucrative to have him open .. in the more distant future any other ** GOLIATH ** of this potential franchise.

Think .. ** Colonel Sanders **

8. - Here .. we will surely need a staff to organize the catering [chefs/ waiters/ bus boys-girls/ hosts/ silk screening dinner invitations/ place settings/ creating menus]. Organizing for a crowd of 1,000 dinner guests is no small feat and while this would be a 1-night-stand .. the preparation must occur 90 days in advance to succeed with as few glitches as possible. The media needs also to be arranged [paparazzi included] to cover this event to deliver it to the front page of magazines world-wide.
Since time is of the essence, it is not too improbable to do this dinner on New Years Eve. If we get this far, we could easily tie it all in with CNN via
Anderson Cooper on 31 Dec. 2014. Well .. it's worth a shot and we'll take it if it's there.

9. - A model mock-up of the expanded ** GOLIATH ** is to be constructed in miniature. A modelling artist would be hired to render the entire ** GOLIATH ARRAY ** in miniature which would be displayed at the gala opening where celebrities and others could be photographed with it.

10. - The business and political community must be part and parcel of this project in a public relations sort of way. Though this is a private
project .. it would be prudent for us to ensure maximum political and
business awareness in those respective communities.

11. - It will take about 7 days to sculpt and cast all the original rewards. After that .. it is merely a mass-production/ painting project. The 1st rewards will be sent within days of starting the project. We may even post the names of each Patron [supporter] as each reward is finished and mailed out.

12. - Any monies exceeding the $3,850,000. will be put into a major
expansion into other cities and/ or the array(s) themselves.
