The Unknowns - July 2014 Update

Hello Kickstarters,

First off, we'd like to apologize for this EXTREMELY delayed update. A lot has happened since we first began this project, and we are steadily progressing with the documentary.

We are currently still engaged in the final stages of post-production. Our Director/Writer/Editor Neal Schrodetzki has been spending upwards of 5 hours a day at his computer for the past 18 months cutting the film.

The result is truly unique and inspiring, both Neal and I agree that we want to portray the entire experience of the Sentinels who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in a clear, concise manner, with respect to the legacy these men protect.

The difficulties that have presented themselves simply have to do with the volume of footage we are editing. It's become increasingly difficult to condense a 3-Year tour, at an amazing place like Arlington National Cemetery, into a 2-hour film.

Here is our PROJECTED timeline for the completion of the film: (All dates are for 2014)

Complete the rough edit by August 1st.

Record narration tracks and layer audio by August 15th.

Apply color correction, masking, final framing, plugins, and graphics by September 15th.

Layer original score for film by October 1st.

Screen film for selected audiences to receive notes, corrections, and input by October 15th.

File official permissions for footage release by November 1st.

Finalize Documentary by November 1st.

We want to extend our gratitude once more to everyone who helped us get this far.

Your donations to our cause will not have been in vain. We will present the world with a one of a kind look at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider as soon as humanly possible.

No-one wants to have this film completed more than us, however, we cannot justify rushing the post-production process in order to finish. As always, our standard will remain perfection.

Thanks again for your patience.

Thanks for the update. I'm thrilled that it will be 2 hours long. Some documentaries I've backed cut down to 90 minutes and I feel like I wanted more. Feel free to run longer if you have to. The trailer makes me want a long documentary seeing everything and even more.
