We're on Facebook!

Hello, Gesher friends!!

Long time no see!  We just wanted to send a quick message to let you know that the Gesher Music Festival of Emerging Artists is officially on Facebook, and we are hoping to gather up 100 likes this month!  If you get a chance, check out our page, "like" us, and share it with your friends!

All the best,

Concerts begin TODAY!!

Dear backers,

Well, all the musicians have been in town for a week now, and we've been enjoying a delicate balance between rehearsing our tails off and having a great time traipsing around St. Louis! (If you happened to be at the City Museum on Friday night, you might have seen a bunch of musicians flying down the 10-story slide...luckily without our instruments...)

Tonight's house concert will officially mark the beginning of the festival, and will include performances of two pieces: the Schulhoff Concertino (if you're intrigued by the combination of flute, bass, and viola, you're in for a treat!) and the Shostakovich 4th Quartet, performed by Chicago Q Ensemble.  We're looking forward to seeing many of you there, as well as at all of the other concerts coming up this week!

Last week we played our first outreach concert for a group of music students at the Webster Community Music School.  It was pretty cool to play chamber music for a bunch of chamber music students!  Here we are performing Glick for them:

Also, preview articles have been featured about the festival in 3 St. Louis papers.  Check out the great press we've been getting!

St. Louis Beacon

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

St. Louis Jewish Light

Since you all are officially our biggest fans, we just wanted to keep you in the loop!  Expect more updates soon, and we'll look forward to seeing you at our concerts this week!

We made it!!

WE DID IT!!  We have not only reached our goal, but we blew right through it and raised 111% of what we were hoping to!  (I probably shouldn't be telling you all this, but on Monday night, right after the Kickstarter passed $3,000, I received a voicemail from Kathleen Sitzer, who sung through the entire Rocky theme song, full of intensity and passion)  We are literally giddy from gratitude and appreciation.  And dear, dear backers, we owe this all to YOU.  THANK YOU for having faith in the Gesher Music Festival.  We are in total awe by the amount of support we've seen in the last 30 days.  You've even inspired us to open up our pocketbooks to a few other cool looking Kickstarter projects that are currently seeking funding!

Now that the campaign is over, we'll be getting in touch with you to collect information about where to send your rewards, how you'd like your name listed in the programs, and a few other details.  And after that, the only thing left for you to do is to come out to hear a concert or 7!  Visit our website for a complete listing of concerts and events, visit the New Jewish Theater's website to buy your tickets, and join us for the second annual Gesher Music Festival of Emerging Artists June 24th-July 1st!  See you there!!

Sincerely,

Sara and Kathleen

Halfway There!!

A very big THANK YOU to all our wonderful donors so far!!  We're over halfway to our goal, and we obviously couldn't have gotten there without your incredible support!  We have been completely humbled and inspired by your generosity.

With $1,469 left to raise in the next 18 days, we ask that you help us spread the word!  "Like" this page, share the link (http://kck.st/IlYi46), tweet about us, blog about us, and e-mail all your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, random acquaintances and anyone else you think might take an interest in this project!!  Of course, the purpose of the Kickstarter Campaign is to fundraise for the festival, but an added bonus is that it is also a vehicle to introduce the Gesher Music Festival to people who might just be interested in attending a concert or event this June.  Anyone you can help us reach would be invaluable exposure for us!

Again, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your faith in this project.  We are extremely encouraged and are confident that we'll be able to reach our $3,000 goal.

Oh, by the way, anyone curious about what the tile coaster and tote bag look like? (They're the rewards for pledges $100 and up)  Well, they're fabulous.  Here's a sneak peek:

If you simply MUST have a coaster or a tote bag and you've already pledged, it's easy to change your pledge amount at any time--your credit card won't be charged until the clock stops ticking on May 23rd.  All you do is click "Manage Your Pledge" and follow the instructions.  Just sayin!

Much, much love and gratitude,

Sara and Kathleen
