About this project
In a snowbound neighborhood, a BULLY learns the most important lesson of his life...from the most unlikely teachers. The timeless, transformative magic of wintertime is the backdrop for 'FROSTED'.
FROSTED is many wonderful things. It's a 5-minute live-action stereoscopic 3D short film. It's a modern fable about snowmen. And bullying. And changing your ways. And being a better person. It's ammunition in the war on bullying. It's an example of highly entertaining short-form 3D content that can be enjoyed on any size screen, by any audience.
Filmmaker and visual-effects veteran James Parris will direct Frosted, through a partnership of Paper Tiger Films, Emily Carr University and Means of Production, Inc.
Co-written with Russ Braun, a veteran of comic books and animated films, Frosted is sweet and scary, and goes to the very heart of a bully's choice: Is it better to destroy, or build? Entertainment is the most powerful weapon for change, and FROSTED is the sincere mission of a team of experienced film-industry veterans.

Risks and challenges
Frankly, shooting in the snow involves some not-so-fun-isms. Cold. Wet. Slippery. Any crew will tell you they'd rather shoot 'Desert' than 'Tundra'.
Filming children is an additional challenge, as their attention spans tend to be shorter-than-ideal. (Parents are aware of this phenomenon).
Our primary challenge during our 5-day shoot will be staying warm while motivating child actors to give us their best. After those challenges, the only real technical issues are those revolving around Stereoscopic 3D filming (Which is just a way of saying - 'We have to film with 2 cameras at the same time, one representing your left eye, and one representing your right'.) Every need that revolves around a camera is doubled as a result. (That's why we have the awesome techs from Emily Carr on board!)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
