Welcome, bugs of the forest! This is the Centipede speaking, right from Racing Track. Today, on this sunny morning, I will be your host in this exciting new edition of the Spring Race! This celebration pits the fastest, smartest and strongest among the denizens of the forest in an exciting race to be the 1st to cross the finish line. In order to win, contestants will have to use their wits, brawn and even the help of mighty allies! So with the contestants already on their starting positions, let the countdown begin...3,2,1...

In Run, Bug, Run! players will compete to be the fastest bug in the yearly Spring Race. Each bug has different attributes and abilities, enabling different strategies in order to be the 1st one to cross the finish line. To do so, players will have to be faster than the others and spend wisely the leaves they gather on race cards, attacks and mighty special abilities. In addition, they can opt to check surprise locations, where they can earn extra powerful cards…or be awarded penalties for their greed

Run, Bug, Run! is a fast-paced game, clocking at 20-40 minutes per race, for 2 to 6 players of age 8 and above. It is a game for players looking for family fun, where all participants have a shot at winning. The game has a fine balance between luck and skill, as the luck on the dice is offset by the strategic possibilities that the other game elements offer. Also, you can mix and match its modular game components for huge replayability and to ensure that everyone at the table, regardless of their age and skill, will be having a great time!
It is also worth noting that the game is language independent, so it's super easy to pick up regardless of you English/reading level! The game's rulebook&box will be multilingual (English+Spanish plus any other language with sufficient backer support)
But how does it play? We’ll guide you through the basics:
First of all, players build a track, which will be different every time thanks to the modular board. Then, players each choose a bug and place them on the starting grid, and take turns alternately until a bug crosses the finish line. Each bug is different, which influences player interaction and overall gameplay
At the beginning of each turn, the active player chooses between drawing from the leaf deck (the currency of the game) and the resource deck (cards that give you an edge). If the active player happens to be the last in the race, they get to pick a free leaf card!
That way each player has to balance the need to get an edge on the other players by playing resource cards, with the need to have enough leaves to pay for those resource cards. Resource cards can either help you move faster (blue ones) or interact with other players (red ones)
Then, the active player chooses the order in which they will take the movement action and the combat action. The movement action includes the movement (determined by a dice roll) and playing 1 blue resource card. If you are lucky enough to roll a turbo, you’ll move even faster! The combat action lets you choose from using 1 red resource card, attacking another bug or using your special ability.
In this example, the Wasp takes the movement action to get close to the Scorpion and then attacks it on the combat action…Will the Wasp be able to knock out the Scorpion? The dice will decide!
There are also surprise cards that can be collected by landing on the surprise squares of the board tiles. A lot of them will help you win the race but don’t get too greedy…some of them are traps!

A brief note about “The Lord of the P.I.G.S.”
The Lord of the P.I.G.S. is 2Tomatoes’ 1st game, currently on its 2nd edition. It is a fast-paced multiplayer economy simulation game for 2 to 4 players of ages 14 and up and 30 minutes gameplay, with a light-hearted theme. Set in the fictional Republic of Meridia, a melting pot of southern European countries, you and your friends will take the role of country’s leaders and will vie for economic supremacy through presentation meetings, voting sessions, public opinion polls, unexpected events and widespread backstabbing.
In order to be able to publish the game we need $15.000, A.K.A. the funding goal. That would cover the costs for the production, shipping, etc. The base game will include 6 bugs. However, if the funding goal is exceeded, we’ll add extras to the game: your pledge WILL make the game better!
Here’s what we can unveil so far:
Run, Bug, Run! is the brainchild of two young designers: Eudald Grabulosa and Miquel Samaniego. Both have extensive experience in amateur game design, and this is their 1st published game, done through the game publisher 2Tomatoes
Miquel Samaniego is an artist delving in painting and sculpture as well as a professor of Visual and Plastic Arts in Universitat de Barcelona. He is co-designer and graphic artist of Run, Bug, Run! and already worked with 2Tomatoes creating the concept art of "The Lord of the P.I.G.S." characters
Eudald Grabulosa is a Physics&Chemistry high school teacher with a passion for designing board and miniature-based games. He is co-designer of Run, Bug, Run!

While every backer means the world to us, regardless of where you are based in, we can’t avoid the reality: shipping is very expensive and is a cost we all need to share for this project to be successful. However, since we want to do our best, we have included a discount for ALL shipping.
Also, we use experienced fulfillment companies to be sure that you don't have to worry about anything regarding the shipping process.

Run, Bug, Run!'s Kickstarter campaign is the culmination of a long road undertake by the 2 co-authors over 2 years ago, when they came up with the idea for the game. After a lot of effort from their part and 2tomatoes, we're finally able to present the game to you. Risks and challenges
The publication of a board game is a complicated process. It is prone to many mistakes and things can sometimes go wrong. However, 2Tomatoes has successfully run and delivered all of our crowdfunding projects (Kickstarter, Verkami), and this one will be no different.
Here are the steps we have taken in order to reduce the likelihood of mistakes and delays:
1 - We have done significant pre-production. This includes having all the materials for the game complete and the graphic art over 80% complete; the remaining 20% will be achieved by taking the backer feedback into account. We already have the production quote and an agreement with our manufacturer. We just need the funding to be able to start producing!
2 - We use fulfillment companies for shipping when we have a large number of orders to ship in a short period of time. Run, Bug, Run! will use fulfillment for at least international shipping
3 - We are fully committed to transparency and backer communication. We will be updating you on a regular basis and we will be present during the whole process to answer any questions and read every comment
