New Organic Smoothie & Juice Truck Summer 2011 NYC
We are a mobile Smoothie & Juice bar raising money to reopen in NYC. We serve Delicious Organic Smoothies, Juices & Healthy Treats!
The Birth of UOC
In June 2010, we opened up our vision of an organic mobile smoothie and juice bar, calling it Urban Oasis Café. Urban Oasis Café was born out of our frustration when witnessing the overwhelming lack of healthy food and drink available to the everyday person. Everywhere we would turn we would find the same old franchises serving up the same processed junk. Even the popular smoothie bars are sometimes misleading customers into thinking that they are drinking something that is good for them, but in reality, they are dumping tons of added sugar and syrups into their drinks and using conventional produce that contains pesticides.
We wanted to provide our customers with a high-quality, honest product that was quick to grab, delicious and also affordable. The truck’s mobility and significantly lower overhead allows us to do just that. Last year was our first season open. We had set-up shop at the farmers markets all over Nassau County, which made for a great first season!
Menu & Products
Everything we serve on the truck is organic! On the menu, you will see a wide selection of smoothies, everything from traditional fruit smoothies to green smoothies and even superfood smoothies! We also have a variety of fresh made green juices as well as raw vegan treats. YUM! Aside from using the highest quality ingredients in our smoothies and juices, we also make sure that all of our papergoods, cups, lids and straws are made from biodegradable or recycled materials. Almost all of our cleaning products are free from harsh chemicals and are environmentally friendly. Our goal in the future is to run the truck on bio-diesel fuel and incorporate solar panels.
For this upcoming season our goal is to bring our truck to NYC. We would be honored to serve our smoothies and juices along side the other amazing food trucks on the streets of the Big Apple and Brooklyn. Getting into the city, however, requires us to make renovations on the truck for safety, functionality and to meet the NYC Health Department regulations. We also need to purchase more equipment and pay for permits. Although we have a certain amount of money to get started, we will need just a bit more to make ends meet. That is why we started this Kickstarer project! The money we raise will go towards all that we discussed above. Kickstarer and Amazon take about 10% as well.
Thank you for taking the time to view our project!
Thank you for your support in helping UOC move forward!
SEE YOU ON THE STREETS!!!!!!
