About
This is an example of the type of songs I write. They tend to be in a folky-pop, almost country-pop vein. Very marketable and, like all of my songs, original in its own right. This is a live recording with my three-piece band Big Adventure this past August. The studio version of the song will be more organic, using more acoustic instruments (fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitars), multi-part background vocals and with the addition of a pedal steel and a B3.
Other songs for the album will include ballads, and at least one rock tune, one blues number and some mighty fine folky rock.
I was a signed songwriter at Sony-Tree in Nashville for a number of years, and one of the reasons they hired me at the time was that my songs were different that what was being "processed" out of Nashville. I have over 50 songs worthy of album play and, after decades of playing OTHER people's tunes, would dearly love to finally get my songs out to the many people who have asked about them.
Risks and challenges
The only risk/challenge will be finding time to complete. I perform 3-4 nights per week, and the stellar musicians I work with are the basis of the rhythm section. Getting the other musicians - and the funds available to manufacture the CDs - will be the only real hurdle from what I see. I have been doing this a long time but just haven't been able to put the right set of circumstances together.
