My debut album 'Confessions of a Justified Sinner' will be released on August 10th, with a launch party at The Hippodrome, Leicester Square on Sunday August 9th 7pm. We're planning a fabulous music/dance video to help promote the album too. I'd love you to be a part of all this! There are three tracks from the album over on my website www.willbarratt.com if you'd like a sneak-preview!
This album has taken quite some time to come into being. I began writing at College about 15 years ago, and there are a couple of tracks from all the way back then on the album. Since then I have written may more and I've been wanting to record them properly for years. So why now? Well, I've been performing in London, all over the UK and internationally for more than a decade. I've played leading roles in shows such as The Producers, Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, The Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys and many more. I also recently enjoyed success as part of “The 4Tunes”, a 4-part male harmony group touring the world, and performing regularly to sold-out audiences at the Hippodrome Casino. I've had an amazing time doing all these things, but I felt now was the perfect time to create something myself, and have faith in my own writing.
So this campaign is to help fully realise this dream of releasing and promoting a professional album of all my own material, and to film a music video for one of the songs on the album, a 'Moulin Rouge-esque' tango duet, with two amazing dancers. And also to help put on an amazing album launch gig with a full band. I'd love to invite you to join me in celebrating with my family, friends, and show-business pals, in a night packed with brand new material from the album and songs from great artists who have inspired his writing & career.
Joining me at the gig will be an amazing band led by maestro Joe Davison (the album’s producer, of Auburn Jam Music & Felix Hagan and the Family), fellow West End & award-winning performers Rebecca Trehearn (City of Angels, Ghost), Nadim Naaman (Sweeney Todd, Phantom of the Opera), Michael Conway (Jersey Boys, Fiddler On The Roof) and Ryan Molloy (Jersey Boys, Tonight’s The Night) This will be a one-off event, and it's sure to be a great night.
Risks and challenges
There's always a small possibility there might be delays in the CD pressing if any technical problems occur there.
The line-up for the album launch is of course subject to change in performers' schedules.
Private gig pledges will be subject to availability of performers, we cannot promise specific dates but will endeavour to find something mutually suitable.
The video shoot date will be dependent on performer and crew availability. We will endeavour to film on a date suitable for pledgers but we do need to prioritise the crew and performer schedules.
Likewise, the vocal masterclass date will be subject to my availability but I will endeavour to find a date that works for all pledgers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
