Fayetteville High School in Arkansas has an exciting line up of film projects this year! We are raising money to help fund these films for the proper equipment and technology they will require to make them award winning.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"ME" by Reed C. Carson

30 minute dramatic thriller.

Shooting early-November.

Eli Wilson awakes one morning to find his roommate, Ayli, dead on the floor. He is startled. Confused. Disoriented. Police Detective Hagens and Trix dig deep into the past of Ayli. Her love life. Her boyfriend, Malcom. And as they investigate, they realize that Eli Wilson appears to be the only suspect. But Eli promises he has nothing to do with her death. Who killed Ayli? Where is Malcom? Who is Malcom? Nothing is as it seems...

"THE MONEY ON EAST SUMMERSHADE" by Cole Borgstadt

15 minute family comedy.

Shooting mid-November.

On a street filled with elderly people, Ben and Pete, two 14 year old boys, try to raise money for a tandem bike for an upcoming race by painting their neighbors' mailbox flags. Ben's younger brother, Trikes, seeks to free himself from being blackmailed after the death of their cat. However, when the boys are thrown a 7 year old obstacle in an astronaut costume named Lloyd, they are forced to control this silent disaster while still working towards their own goals.

"A BLAST TO REMEMBER" by Daniel Byrd

20 minute dark comedy.

Shooting early-December.

Meet Mark. His whose life has been ruined by three ordinary unsuspecting characters, Evan, Karen, and Steve. Karen is a selfish realtor with a sassy attitude that will do anything to be the best at her job. Evan is an older electrician that has no idea how to do his job. Steve is a "tough guy"with an explicit mouth who’s had it bad all his life. After his wife was killed in Evan’s freak accident in their house and is son overdosing on drugs, Mark's only goal is to kill his 3 enemies. Twists and turns come from all places and things don’t always go to plan.

Why do we need $1,000?

Film isn't cheap! At Fayetteville High School we will be purchasing new equipment (camera jib, sand bags, apple boxes, etc.), certain art requirements per project (child's space suit, fake tattoos, paint, mailbox flags, fake blood, coffee cups, etc.), film project catering, and hopefully some new rentals (cameras, dollies, walkie-talkies, lighting fixtures, etc.).

We do not have a very large budget within the film department and most of our money from the school has to be used for everyday uses such as school supplies, film festival submissions, and equipment repair.

With this money we hope to increase the quality of our films so that we will have money supporting us from taking home awards at film festivals.

FHS Film Classes

At Fayetteville High School we have 3 basic years of film classes, beginner, intimidate, and advanced. These three films come out of the higher level classes though every film student who wishes to be a part of a film can apply for a spot within these crews.

All classes are taught by Jonelle Grace Lipscomb who started the FHS film program and has grown it into the program it is today. Every year Mrs. Lipscomb helps students to push the boundaries of film and increase the quality of the FHS film department.

Risks and challenges

Because we are only students, this is a learning process. We are excited to overcome the speed bumps that may occur while producing these films.
