As a life-long painter, being able to afford materials for the last 15 years hasn't always been easy, and the devil is no longer willing to fund an artist that can out-paint him. I have therefore reached the point where I need to seek help elsewhere...that's where you come in.
Your pledge money ultimately is for the completion of my current series of oil paintings, and will go towards costs such as time to paint, oil paint and other supplies, coffee, and a new set of paint brushes. The first installment of this series of works will be exhibited at Gallery 13 in minneapolis, MN, on September 9th. The second installment, what you are supporting, will be exhibited in Minneapolis Minnesota in the winter/spring of 2012. gallery13.com
My current work is about color and form. I will paint 15 (or more) major works for my upcoming exhibit. In order to create these new paintings I need new paint brushes. I use very specific paint brushes to get the delicate look required for my work. I purchased a complete set of paint brushes in 1998 and even though I have taken excellent care of them, all good things must come to an end. Your support will help give new life to my future works.
All supporters of my project will receive a personal invitation to my upcoming exhibit at Gallery 13.
I have spent the better part of the last 15 years exploring oil painting. In 2005 I figured out exactly what I wanted the direction of my paintings to look like. I spent the next 4 years teaching myself how to work oil paint the way I had envisioned it. Truly, thank you for spending the time to consider supporting my project.
