Introducing The LiFT Cutting Board
We came together as a team because we:
- Love beautiful products.
- We believe in healthy eating.
- We’re serious about minimizing our impact on the environment.

We want to encourage discussion around these topics and to change the way we look at preparing fresh food by making it:
-
Easy
- Enjoyable
- Habit-forming
We started this with our previous Anton strainer on Kickstarter. We are returning with the values of:
-
Intelligent and esthetic design.
- Re-imagining the activity of cutting fresh produce.
- Approaching problems with a minimalist attitude – add function, not clutter.

THE CHALLENGES:
The following are problems often experienced with conventional cutting boards:
-
It is difficult to transfer food from a cutting board to a pan with one hand while having a knife in the other hand - this is because of the inconvenient shape of a small board or the heavy weight for a large board.

- The corners of a rectangular shaped board are rarely used because almost all the cutting occurs in the center of the board – this is a waste of manufacturing material and cutting board space.
- Often several cutting boards are purchased for more complex recipes – this contributes to a waste in manufacturing energy and materials, creating multiple dishes to wash and a lot of wasted water.
- Visit many kitchens and you’ll see cutting boards of different brands made from different material contributing to a lack of harmony in the kitchen. A messy kitchen results in storing away cutting boards causing inconvenience when extracting them.

THE IMPROVEMENT:
Our design provides the following:
- A demonstration of design combining simplicity and beauty to provide peerless functionality.
- Ease of movement though genius design of a lip to lift the cutting board easily with one hand.
- A small cutting board that is easily extended to a large area where volume of fresh produce or complexity in recipe is required.

- The circular shape of both the cutting board and extension ring ensure minimal use of production material.
- The cutting board and outer ring is useful for cutting, waste management and dinner party presentation for starters – this aligns with our desire to make beautiful and useful products that have many purposes instead of products that are rarely intended to perform more than one task.

- Use the cutting board and extension ring for serving condiments and other ingredients for a meal immediately after using them to chop fresh produce – this will save dish washing water where multiple dishes would normally be used.
- Designed from the ground up with simplicity and function in mind. No gadget with complexity here. The LiFT is as easily used for chopping vegetables as it is left on the counter top as a design piece to be used again and again without need for storing.

TIMELINE

This project is promoted by Jellop, the ad tech power behind the best Kickstarters with 600+ successful Kickstarter projects with over $280MM raised between them.
Risks and challenges
This is our second project on Kickstarter.
We learned many lessons from our last project. Even during the learning process, we were able to deliver on time. Now we are more confident in our supply chains and production lines.
We will continue to demonstrate transparency and ensure resolution, so you can expect the same great results we know you want to experience.
Our goal is to create simple products that deliver a lot – multiple functions, quality and great esthetic appeal and with minimal impact on the environment. We achieved this with the Anton Strainer Kickstarter and aim to achieve again with the Lift Cutting Board.
For a year, we have been using a functional product, not a prototype. The functional product we’ve been using has been a hit both in use and in demonstration. We’re confident we have covered all aspects to ensure a successful Kickstarter and we have prior experience with an injection mold. Nonetheless, we were looking for ways to improve and we have added wood. It is a trickier initiative, so we partnered with an amazing manufacturer that only makes cutting boards. This ensures experience in all aspects of the Kickstarter to ensure that regardless of your choice of material selected, you get a great result.
If we experience issues along the way, we are committed to working through all of them to ensure you get the best, most functional and aesthetically-pleasing cutting board you have committed to just as we did with the previous Strainer Bowl project.
