The project is designed to showcase the incredibly bold attempt of Bhutan to create a culture of happiness, yet in a provocative way. Through the main character, questions ranging from "how does one achieve personal happiness?" to "can cultures be really transformed?" to "how can spirituality be balanced with materialism?" are posed. All of this is done with the beautiful backdrop of Bhutan, the exotic monasteries, and colorful festivals playing an important role. The main character discovers that all true transformations begin with an education and opening of the heart.
The funding would provide the monies needed to publish the book and most importantly market the book through clearly thought out social and traditional marketing strategies. So many books on the market these days do not make an impact because the marketing strategy and funding for success of self-published books is underestimated.
Once the initial goal is met, additional pledges will be used for the design, development, and editing of "A Curriculum of the Heart," for all ages, which will have current research, practical ideas, and immediate applications to begin to transform ourselves and the culture wherever we are.
Risks and challenges
December has been selected as the date of completion as lag time for publishing has been factored in. The biggest risk is really the lack of marketing or a clearly articulated marketing strategy, which I have been discussing for months with social and traditional marketers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
