In the 21st Century, Jews have a much different world than our ancestors. We wish to pay homage to our heritage during the celebration of major life cycle events, like a wedding. But we also want to let our personality shine through. Unfortunately, few voices outside of the synagogue understand the intricacies of religious practices, plus the secular etiquette and trends that can help them along the way.
Michele Schwartz is a Jewish life cycle event expert who offers the guidance and inspiration couples need as they seek to embrace Jewish traditions while putting a fresh and personalized spin on an event. Through her website, consulting, and engaging speeches, Michele empowers couples to plan the perfect wedding with accurate and trustworthy information about Jewish traditions, beautiful visual content, and an inclusive spirit. She helps her audience feel connected to their heritage through a deeper understanding of the rituals so they can integrate them into the ceremony in a fun and authentic way. Michele is dedicated to providing a place to learn and love modern expressions of Jewish traditions.
Now Michele is writing the wedding planner that puts it all together. The book that doesn't already exist. Advice on choosing your ketubah, explaining how you can use your Chuppah to express your personality as a couple, how to include Jewish Wedding traditions in your Interfaith wedding or how to modernize your classic Orthodox wedding. Along with real stories of and lessons learned from other MJW couples, worksheets, timelines, a budget planner, design advice and pockets all in a 3-ring binder you can take with you to interview creative partners.
It's all included. It's the perfect book or gift for people who are in the midst of planning a Jewish or Interfaith wedding or those in the wedding industry who want to learn more about Jewish weddings.
It's no accident that the publication of this book requires funding in the amount of $18K. The number "18" signifies "Life" in Hebrew. To give this book life we need the money to edit, design and print the book to put it into your hands in a usable format.
Risks and challenges
Timing is everything. We're headed into the fall and winter holiday season, not to mention college football, Halloween (AKA Michele's Birthday) and engagement season. I'm committed to getting this book out right after all of the above. However, I am at the mercy of editors, printers and graphic artists. Patience is a virture and if we're running late on publication of the book we'll be sure to give you plenty of heads up! Plus, we always have the blog where you can get daily eye-candy and inspiration on the best Vendor Resources known.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
