I am getting ready to publish my second novel, Dirty Southside Jam, and I want to provide my readers with the most attractive product that I can deliver. The funds I'm looking to raise with this campaign will be used primarily to acquire an attractive cover design and a compelling layout. That is my ultimate purpose here; funds raised will also be used to allow for additional input from professional editors and marketing for the book.
I want to ensure that I can publish a quality novel that is available to as many readers in as many markets and formats as possible.
Finally, here's the pitch for Dirty Southside Jam:
Billie Boyd, better known to the good people of Bogut as Blue, is the
kind of guy whose luck only comes in one flavor. Sometimes it seems
that his entire life has been punctuated by one bad break after another,
but that's okay. He's a simple guy at heart, a man who has learned not
to expect much. Everything changes when Blue finds a small
fortune and decides to keep it, believing that his luck has finally
He should have known better.
Now, good old Blue is at odds with a drug-peddling brute, a ruthless killer, and a corrupt lawman. His only ally is an aging drifter who likes to smoke pot and drive fast. A man who never asked for much has bitten off way more than he can chew, and it's becoming painfully obvious that his next bad break will definitely be his last.
Risks and challenges
The novel is already finished, it is currently in my editor's hands, and I have a talented designer in place to format a cover and engineer a compelling layout. All that is missing at this point is the funding required to bring these various elements of the book's production to completion. Should any issues arise, I have alternate sources to turn to for these elements, and with a successful Kickstarter campaign, finalizing the novel should be a smooth process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
