No matter how many times I say it I’m still so humbled by your support and generosity and so very grateful to all the contributions, suggestions, and shares. I'm excited to update you on the status of the manuscript. After receiving the first editorial critique in early February, I revised the manuscript to address content-related issues. Together, Sharon and I restructured to meet the editorial comments.
In mid-February I started the process of contacting copy-editors. It took a while to find a competent, well-regarded, and a willing editor. Our top pick was only able to start on the 29th of February. Yesterday, I received an update from her on the status of the manuscript. Things seem to be progressing well and if all goes as planned, the draft will come back to us in late March. From there, I'll make the final touches and format the text for e-book and print versions to get it into print.
Also, you may have noticed an updated cover image on some of our platforms. This is one of my little sister’s, Jody, paintings as the novel’s front cover (see below).
Meanwhile, I am trying to pitch the novel to reviewers. If you happen to know anybody, any suggestions and recommendations of professional reviewers are highly appreciated. That said, in the coming days and weeks, I will keep you apprised. Also, we're on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/IshmaelofSyria) and GoodReads (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28792836.An_Ishmael_of_Syria). Come check us out!
