Neighborhood restaurant on Capitol Hill, serving comforting yet innovative cuisine..........with a smile.
Rose's Luxury is going to be a small neighborhood restaurant on Capitol Hill with approximately 40 seats, an interior garden and a cozy little bar upstairs.
The food will be American, modern, interesting, seasonal, etc. etc. etc....but most importantly, it will be delicious. And served with a smile. Our constantly changing menu will most likely include as much as 50-70% vegetarian items at any given time.
What's with the name:
The "Rose" part is easy, Rose was my grandmother who happened to be an excellent cook, baker, singer, songwriter, poet, and playwright amongst many other things.
The "Luxury" part...we like to think luxury isn't about having four different salad forks and servers in white gloves. To us luxury is about finding quality and taking the time to enjoy it.
Where Your $$$ are going:
Our lease is signed, construction has started and we are planning to open our doors in approximately 5 months! We are hoping to raise money to help us cover the costs of the design and renovation process for our restaurant.
By renovation and design we mean plants for the garden, NON-PAPER hand towels for the bathroom, and maybe even a fancy ice machine to make actual "cubes" of ice for your cocktails. We do not mean beers at the local bar or impromptu 48-hour gambling trips to Atlantic City.
The building has tons of character and natural charm (which is why we love it so much). But the building is very old and it needs quite a bit of love to bring it back to it's prime.
We hope our friends (you guys) will be able to help us do this and think it will be a nice way to let you all be a part of the success of Rose's, while getting some pretty cool rewards in the meantime.
The "feel-good" part:
Lastly (and most importantly) we are currently active contributors to the World Food Program USA of the UN World Food Program's Global Operations.
Basically what this mean is that for every meal eaten in our restaurant (or currently our pop-ups) we donate .25 cents to the WFP-USA which will provide a meal for a child, served in schools across Africa, South America, and Asia.
So every time you have a meal, a child gets a meal. Simple as that.
Risks and challenges
What are the risks and challenges that come with this project? And how do we plan to overcome them???
The risks associated with this project are that you might want to come back to our restaurant sooo often..........your roommate-slash-spouse-slash-brand new puppy-slash-whatever may start to wonder whether you've been abducted or perhaps even just moved out. In either case, we can't help you.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
