Outdoor Encounters are poker-sized, 330 gsm game cards that the GM may use to randomly generate an outdoor event in any fantasy roleplaying game. The cards are generic in nature and not designed for any one game system. Experienced GMs will have no problems incorporating the encounters into the game of their choice.
YOU DO NOT NEED THE FIRST SET TO USE THESE NEW CARDS!

These cards may be either used randomly -- ask the players to draw a card when the party is traveling across the countryside -- or, instead, the GM may select a card when looking to throw a quick encounter at the players.

Outdoor Encounter cards are not intended for novice gamemasters. The encounters described on these cards do not include monster or character statistics, game mechanics, or detailed instructions for using each card. Outdoor Encounter cards are, in a sense, adventure seeds with a slight twist. These cards are only useful once you've applied some effort to the suggested encounters.

Set Two?
Yes, this is a second set of cards. A limited number of the original set of 36 remain (see the Kickstarter page) and are offered in a reward level (see right). You do not, though, need the first set to use the second set. Each stands alone.

Dungeon Challenge Cards
For those who missed out on my previous Kickstarter project for the Dungeon Challenge Cards (details here), I am making those cards available as a part of this project. The Dungeon Challenge Cards final product is a 36-card deck, packed inside a custom tuck box, and that project is completed and ready to mail out (backers of the original project have already received their rewards).
Shipping
U.S. shipping is "free," by which I mean that I have factored the U.S. mailing costs into the reward levels. Nothing is ever really free. These will be packed into a padded envelope and sent through the USPS.
No International Shipping: As a single operator, the nightmare of international shipping is one that is best avoided. Sorry, world, but customs forms and the ridiculous prices that the USPS asks for shipping packages outside of the U.S. do not appeal to me.

Risks and challenges
After years of experience with Kickstarter, running and backing projects, combined with decades of experience in publishing, I think _most_ of the largest challenges and risks have been avoided. The 18-card deck is in the works, the printer is one I have (limited) experience with, and all that remains is funding and wrapping up work on the cards. (If the stretch goals are met, I'll need more time to finish the extra cards. I think I've left enough time between the project close date and estimated delivery date so that there will be no problems.)
However, things can go wrong. As an individual, I do not have access to a company to assist with packing and shipping rewards (a friend helps!), and I have no control over life. Everything should ship on schedule, but things can (and sometimes do) go wrong. If something goes off the rails, I will post an update to explain the situation.
