MEGAcquire II - An Expansion Inspired by the Game of ACQUIRE
A larger challenge to an old favorite board game that seems new yet familiar at the same time. Acquire the future for the true fanatic.
Since producing 500 copies of MEGAcquire in 2012, I have had continual requests for more games. Therefore I have decided to try it again. MEGAcquire proved to be a fantastic game and in some corners of the world, it is difficult to get avid players of MEGAcquire to play ACQUIRE again.

MEGAcquire II is my next step in continuing the quest to expand Sid Sackson's magnificent idea and get it into the hands of as many people who may want it. The final push to get this project going again came from a customer in Guadalajara, Mexico who told me they have MEGAcquire tournaments every week with four different games going at once. He tells me It is time to make the game again as there is a whole other generation of younger players who have been inspired by his tournaments that want their own copy of the game.
I am hoping to get commitments through Kickstarter for at least 1000 games. By doing this I will be able to produce MEGAcquire II for a significant amount lower than MEGAcquire. The game will still have a shipping weight of seven pounds but the Kickstarter price for MEGAcquire II will be $30 less than MEGAcquire. I have prepared over 1.000 e-mails to send to past customers of mine but I spend most of my time on game projects and I am not fluent in social media and therefore I am hampered in my ability to promote this project. If you are interested in pledging to this project then I urge you to help me promote this project in any manner you can so that we can make MEGAcquire II successful.

We have made a few minor changes from the production run of MEGAcquire and this next production run of MEGAcquire II. The money has been given new artwork. The rule booklet has a new cover and included in the booklet is a sample game narration to help first time players and a Stock Price Extension Chart that is used to help calculate payouts when companies are bought out and at the end of the game. We have also enlarged the tile holders and redesigned the box insert for better storage. The company markers are being made in three different shapes to better designate the difference in their starting price value. Most importantly, we have demanded a better process for printing the designations on the tiles.

About MEGAcquire II
MEGAcquire II is an exciting journey of strategy and luck, for three to six players, through the corporate world of building empires and wealth. Live in the world of fun and fortune as you maneuver to outwit your opponents. Build and merge companies while shrewdly buying, trading, and selling stocks to become the wealthiest player.
Each player builds companies by adding tiles as they increase wealth by purchasing stocks in these companies. Cash flow is obtained by selling majority and minority shares through mergers. It is not always prudent to have the most stock in the biggest company, if you can build and sell enough smaller companies to generate a large income. Many different strategies can be used to reach the pinnacle of the corporate world, but you will always need the “luck of the draw”.
MEGAcquire II will appeal to players of any age, who like the feeling of power that is acquired through achievement. It is recommended for ages 13 and up, but cannot be limited in age because of the early possession of business savvy that can be found in younger players. Average playing time is from 2-3 hours, but shorter time limits can be set.
MEGAcquire II is a perfect learning tool to teach younger people a sense of how the world of investing works. It illustrates how investing in stocks can be very strategic but at the same time requires some luck. They learn how their wealth can grow as they build their companies and how their cash flow can increase by selling companies while subsequently using the profit to make more investments.
MEGAcquire II is played on a 15" x 13" plastic board that contains 182 hexagon spaces with 182 corresponding hexagon tiles. (The hexagon shape allows six different ways to connect) Each hexagon is labeled with a designation A-1 through N-13 and each tile has a corresponding designation for its' place on the board. Each player draws 12 tiles to start the game and then draws a replacement tile after each turn. The tiles are used to create and grow companies.
While creating and growing these companies, the players buy, trade, and sell stocks in an attempt to become the wealthiest player. There are 14 different companies to choose from when building an empire, seven hotels and seven corporations. Each company has a different color, simulated "building" that represents the companies designation. The companies have different starting values that include low, medium, & high priced companies.
There are: Seven hotels: Luster (Red) & Teton (Yellow), are low priced, Arcadia (Dark Blue), Global (Brown), & Fanfare (Green), are medium priced, Nobel (Teal), & Regal (Pink) are high priced.
Seven corporations: Solon (Gray) & Unity (Beige), are low priced, Helix (Orange), Watts (Purple), & Digital (Baby Blue), are medium priced, Physics (Burgundy), & Quasar (Charcoal) are high priced.
In the picture below, the small tile , #1, is a standard playing tile. The "small building", #2 in the picture below, is used to designate the lower priced companies, #3 designates the medium priced companies, and #4 designates the high priced companies. Each marker will be colored to match the company it represents.
There are 25 stock certificates for each company and when the supply has been purchased, there are no more stocks available unless a player trades some back to the bank when they are out of money or the stocks are returned through mergers.

How To Play MEGAcquire II
Players can play one tile per turn. When two hexagons are placed together they form a company. The player who places the tile that starts the company gets to chose what company they want from those that are available. The player then receives a free share of stock in that company as a founding bonus.
Players are allowed to purchase six stock certificates of any company on the board during their turns. By receiving the free share of stock, the player who starts the company always has control of keeping majority shareholder status in that company, unless they decide to purchase something else before they hold a "true majority". Since there are 25 stock certificates of each company, a true majority is attained when a player owns 13 shares. No other player can purchase more shares than the player who holds 13 shares.
Stock values increase as tiles are played on the respective companies. Information cards are provided to keep track of stock prices and shareholder bonuses. As the companies grow, larger companies merge with smaller companies. This is accomplished when a tile is played that connects two companies. The larger company always takes out the smaller company. If the companies are of equal size, before the merging tile is played, the player who plays this tile gets to decide which company will survive.
The players who hold first and second majority in the smaller company, at the time of the merger, receive bonuses. At this time, all players who hold stock in the smaller company can sell their stock for the current market value. They can also choose to keep their stock in hope that the company will open again. When a tile is played that merges more than one company, the companies are cashed out starting with the smallest company first.
Companies are considered "safe" when they reach 21 tiles. Safe means that they can't be taken over by a larger company and a safe company will remain on the board until the end of the game. Tiles that would connect two safe companies are turned over on their designated space on the board and a new tile is drawn. Companies can increase in value up to the level of 101 tiles.
Each player starts with $12,000 dollars. Investing this money is based on the tiles in the players hand and the companies they can grow. When a player runs out of money they can, on their turn, trade stocks that they have purchased for other stocks that are more beneficial to their portfolio. Yet they can only trade enough stocks to purchase six stocks on a turn. Players can not trade stocks for cash.
A large amount of money can be generated by opening and selling small companies, which creates cash flow to reinvest. But conversely, a large wealth can be accumulated by holding majority in the larger companies. The winner needs the ideal mix of investing, and a little bit of luck, that provides the greatest wealth.
It takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to fill the entire board of MEGAcquire II, so shorter time limits can be set. If you only want to play for 1.5 hours, just be sure to let all players have equal turns and end at the designated time. All companies are cashed out at the end of the game for the current market value based on the number of tiles in the company. All players count up their earnings and the player with the most money is the MEGAcquirer.

Michael & Lisa Spahitz of Board Game Manufacturers in Pahrump, Nevada helped me to get MEGAcquire produced . Their artwork and knowledge of how to get a game produced for a small time game dreamer are second to none. They have done some fantastic work making the necessary alterations to create the game of MEGAcquire II.
Yet the project of MEGAcquire has tested and enhanced their abilities and also the abilities of the factories. We decided to change factories for the production of MEGAcquire II because we have demanded a better quality for this game.
It is our hope that by creating a successful Kickstarter project, we can purchase enough editions of MEGAcquire II to offer them at an extremely low price compared to MEGAcquire. I did most of the production for MEGAcquire on my own, so it became very expensive and I was not able to produce it at the quality level that it deserved.
By taking advantage of bulk purchasing, even though MEGAcquire II is an elaborate game with numerous pieces, the cost of the game can be very affordable. The numerous pieces that are comprised in the game of MEGAcquire II will always keep the shipping weight at seven pounds. Yet it is my hope to get the base cost of the game down to an amount that will allow the customer the ability to afford the shipping costs.

MEGAcquire II will ship by Priority Mail (2-3) days anywhere in the United States for a flat rate charge of $20. If you order multiple games, then you can go to www.usps.com website to calculate the shipping. Each game has a shipping weight of seven pounds and my location is 98632. So, just multiply the number of games you wish to purchase by 7 pounds and look up the appropriate weight to your location. I only charge the amount that the U.S. Post Office will charge for the package. No handling fees.
International customers can also go to the USPS website to calculate shipping at seven pounds per game. The two options for international shipping will be Priority Mail International and Priority Mail Express International.
Shipping will be invoiced at the end of the project when the games are at my location and ready to ship. An e-mail invoice will be sent at that time. Shipping costs will be determined by the amount of games purchased and the location of the destination. Games will be shipped when payment for shipping is received. $75,000 - Every game will include a Special Powers Variant Kit. These kits give each player cards that can be utilized to make a special move on their turn. There are five different cards and every player gets one of each card. The choice becomes not only when, but if, the cards should be played.

Risks and challenges
Since we are using a different factory for this production, we will have to redo the molds for the board, tiles, tile holders, box insert, and company markers. We will also have to recreate the printing plates for the stock certificates, rules, information cards, box art, and money. This process will usually take 30-45 days to create the molds and test them for accuracy.
After the molds are completed, the game production will usually take another 45-60 days to be delivered to my location. Between these two processes, the maximum days are usually 105 days, or over three months. That being said, I am adding another couple of months to the promise date to allow for any problems in design or shipping that may cause this project to go over the normal production times.
We sincerely hope to have MEGAcquire II in your possession by spring of 2019. After my last adventure into game manufacturing, I have learned that any setbacks are possible. Yet I was buying a small amount of games and it was easy for the factory to place my order on the "back burner." My hope is this time, with a larger order, the factory can stay on task and hopefully get the games to our location in plenty of time for us to ship them out to by March of 2019.
If this project exceeds the goal of $35,000 before the project is ended, I will utilize alternate funding to begin the process of making the molds for the game. That way, the production process can start before the Kickstarter project is ended and the games can have an earlier delivery date.
