A super-powers tale sans violence, about a woman sick of all the insanity and nuclear posturing surrounding her homeland.
The ‘Binah’ Comics & Solilians 7-Inch Vinyl is intended to be a beautiful collectors item, a gorgeous gift, and a fantastic piece of art, combining two mediums (comics and music) that perfectly complement each other in gorgeous print and sumptuous vinyl.
We can't thank you enough for helping us make this dream come true & now that we've reached our goal, we are looking to make Binah even more beautiful and savory by creating some stretch goals.
1. If we reach $2700 we'll add ten pages to the comic (thus telling a greater story & expanding the world of Binah.)
2. If we reach $2900 the comic will go hard-cover. Beautiful hard cover graphic novel, a priceless artifact that you will treasure for years to come.
3. If we reach $3500, we'll add 'The Binah Comics & Solilians 7-inch' custom t-shirts to everyone who gave $25 and above. T-Shirts are cool, sexy, and will keep you almost warm when you're freezing. Please spread the word and help us stretch like Mr. Fantastic!
(Additionally, your current donations allow us to now print 150 graphic novels, vs. our previous 100. Gratzi mucho!!!)
The comic book ‘Binah’ is a collaboration between the illustrator Ian Densford and the writer Ben Malkin. Ben wrote the script about a teleporter named Binah, who, along with her team of powers (Metamorphosis, The Daughter of Illusions, & Flush), stages five ‘signs from G-d.’ The signs are meant to try & secretly convince her people, the Solilians, that they need to move their home & holy land, Strong Island, or suffer inevitable atomic annihilation. Amidst a sea of escalating tension, hatred and violence from their neighboring countries (~particularly Old Jersey, whose people the Ifwhen, are very close to atomic capability), the Solilians find themselves eternally on the defensive, and constantly having to anticipate when the next attack or tragedy will be. Binah, who does not love her own government, but rather simply wants peace, believes she was visited by G-d in a dream, informed she is the Messiah, and that it’s her duty to get the Solilians to emigrate to a far-away island she’s bought before it’s to late. The ‘signs from G-d’ do get people talking, and the drunk noir detective Blaze Braff (who himself has super-speed) is sent in by Strong Island’s government to get to the bottom of it. Quite a bit ensues but we’ll save that for the comic. Suffice to say, in light of recent events, this tale is more relevant than ever.

‘Binah’ will be a glossy black and white fifty-page comic (graphic novel). It’s a super-powers tale sans violence, about a woman who is sick of all the insanity and nuclear posturing surrounding her homeland, and who wants a change of address for her people so that the dawn of peace can really ensue. In conjunction with the graphic novel comes a 7-inch vinyl release (along with digital downloads) by the ambient psych band Solilians. The atmospheric music on the 7-inch perfectly accompanies the comic without intruding on it. Beat-less, peaceful, and otherworldly, Solilians sound ushers you into the world of ‘Binah,’ and is meant to be the perfect sonic ecosystem to inhabit while reading the comic.
Solilians are an all-star line-up of some of today’s best space rock minds, consisting of Neptune Sweet (from Drifting In the Cinema, & Electric Djinn) on sweet vocals; J Cep (from Soundpool, & The Stargazer Lilies) on bowed guitar; multi-instrumental-grand-puba Gabriel Walsh (from Your Team Ring, & Earthly Frames); and Ben Malkin (from So L’il, & Gracefully) on negative space keys. Please refer to the bio below for links to all these bands. You can also hear some of Solilians sounds in the video above and in the rewards links section below.
The graphic novel will be printed up by Sterling Pierce Company in Rockaway, NY. The majority of it is already completed, and the final pages will be illustrated within the next month and a half. The music has already been recorded, but still needs to be mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side. Alan is one of the top mastering engineers around, and has always elevated our music to astronomic interstellar out-of-sight majesty. The 7-inches will be pressed at United Record Pressing in Nashville, Tennessee. Additionally, a video of the comic moving through the music will come as a free mp4 download with the release.
This is exactly the breakdown of where the $2500 we’re trying to raise is going:
1. $832 - printing 100 glossy comic graphic novels with Sterling Pierce Company
2. $350 to $400 - mastering with Alan Douches at West West Side
3. $655 - printing 100 7-inch vinyl records from United Record Pressing
4. $400 - artwork and illustration costs
5. $125 - 5% kickstarter comission
6. $200 - shipping and handling rewards costs
All together on the low side this actually adds up to $2562, and things come up along the way as well.
Please help make this dream a reality, support and share as far as the eye can see: with friends, families, ~anyone you think might be interested in such a project. We can’t make this happen without you. The way kickstarter works is if you don’t raise the entirety of your goal you get none of it. We are just starting out in our comics career, and this is a strange beautiful project whose message is timely, and whose musical aspect deepens your immersion into the world of ‘Binah’. On top of it, our rewards are packed with all sorts of phenomenal products and creative endeavors by all six people involved in this project, so that you really do get a ton of rewards back for your support.
Most importantly, THANK YOU. Thank you thank you thank you. We cannot do this without you. A little goes a long way and with enough li’l, we can make this dream come true.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The production of the graphic novel is just about complete, with the final illustrations of the fifty page comic being finished up in the next month and a half. The music is completely recorded. The biggest challenge we’re going to face of sticking to our estimated delivery time is the mastering, manufacturing, and printing of the graphic novel and 7-inch, being subject to factors beyond our control, and subject to delays. That said, we are giving the project plenty of time, so when we say everything should arrive by approximately August 1st, this date accounts for most contingencies in production.
