About

Food is medicine and it has the power to heal and maximize the human potential!

We are seeking investors to help spread the message that there are simple, actionable steps that can be taken to promote good health and help prevent chronic disease. Rather than spending billions of dollars a year on drugs, doctor visits and hospitalizations, what would happen if we focused on giving people simple tools they can use to make small but significant changes in how they eat, exercise, sleep and manage stress? The increased energy and improved health I’ve been able to witness in my clients over the years is remarkable!

Eat Well to Be Well is a step-by-step guide for reducing inflammation and maximizing health. This book is my heart! It flows from my experience as a clinician working to inspire chronically ill patients to believe that good health is possible and then watching them evolve as they put their plan into action. My research, knowledge and commitment to the anti-inflammatory lifestyle combined with my love for fresh healthy food has translated into this toolkit for why and how to create a healthier, happier life.

I am committed to helping people understand how to change their health vision. In this country we tend to believe that growing older means growing sicker. I am on a mission to change that! I want to provide the tools needed to help people take charge of their health ensuring that their best years are still yet to come!

Jan Tilley, President and CEO of JTA Wellness, is a national leader in nutrition counseling, wellness and chronic disease management. As a registered dietitian, Jan helps at-risk clients develop a healthy lifestyle to combat chronic health issues. Holding a MS in Nutrition, Jan has over 20 years of experience in the food and nutrition industry.

In addition to managing her successful nutrition consulting practice, Jan is a highly respected corporate wellness expert and motivational speaker sharing stories balanced by professional observations and research to propel her audience toward a lifetime of healthy choices.

In the spring of 2012, the Texas Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics awarded Jan the State Media Award which honors an outstanding individual that has made a positive impact on the promotion of nutrition and dietetics through the media. In 2014 Jan received the National Association of Women Business Owners Entrepreneurial Spirit Award as a Mentor.

Risks and challenges

If our project is funded, a majority of the money raised will go to publishing and advertising of the book. Eat Well to Be Well has already been sent to our publisher and we should be receiving our first copies in January. We are still meeting deadlines for the publisher and we expect the book to be produced in mass quantities in March.
