About this project
"Superheroes Meets Lord of the Rings"
This is the story of Felix Farrack! It's up to him to re-unite the Horns and the Prowlers against an old foe, the Dracos!
What is Magos?? Magos is a vast planet of magic.
This is an epic adventure story. When the Dracos escape and resume terrorizing Magos, it falls to Felix to figure out how to bring the Prowlers and the Horns together to defeat the Dracos once again!
Here are some sample pages by Greg Menzie with colours by Kote Carvajal and letters by Paul Wiles:
"When Felix was a young boy he lost his older sister, Madeline, when they were attacked by a band of raiders. After Madeline was killed Elura retired from the Guard so she could stay home to protect young Felix."
Tumo consoles young Felix
"Two hundred years ago the King and Grand Mage of the Prowlers, Finnus, defeated these Dracos using brilliant tactics. Then he spun powerful spells to seal the Dracos beneath the planet surface."
"Felix’s father, Tumo, and mother, Elura, raised their children to be courageous, strong and compassionate. Tumo is a captain of the forces that guard the Horn Outlands."
Other unfinished pages!
"It is possible to teach magic, but the Prowlers King Larkhan has banned such teaching. Practicing magic in public also is forbidden. However, this law does not apply to the King’s Guard and his inner circle. "
Halana & Milly sharing a joke at the Outland Guard Training Academy before Hand-to-Hand combat training!

Magos is a vast orange orb floating in space. Two hundred years ago, Magos was a wild world, filled with magic. Unchecked chaotic forces reigned, the worst of which were the Dracos. Dracos roamed the surface causing pandemonium wherever they went. Their immense size and cunning minds were matched only by their unrelenting rage.
Unlike Earth, Magos is home to a variety of humanoid races. The two most common are the Horns and the Prowlers. Two hundred years ago the King and Grand Mage of the Prowlers, Finnus, defeated these Dracos using brilliant tactics. Then he spun powerful spells to seal the Dracos beneath the planet surface.
During the calm, following the defeat of the mighty race of Dracos, Finnus founded the great Prowler city of Tellon. Today, Tellon is inhabited by members of all the humanoid races. Despite this diversity undertones of bias lurk in the shadows. Civil unrest has started to occur in Tellon.
The story picks up two-hundred years after the Prowler victory over the Dracos.
Many on Magos were born with strong magical abilities when Dracos roamed the planet, but this changed after they were sealed away. It has become more and more rare for individuals to be born naturally gifted or with an aptitude to learn how to generate magical energies. Less then 10% of the Prowler / Horn / all humanoids population is born magically gifted.
It is possible to teach magic, but the Prowlers King Larkhan has banned such teaching. Practicing magic in public also is forbidden. However, this law does not apply to the King’s Guard and his inner circle.
The Grand Library (in Tellon City) holds Magos’ finest collection of magical lore (scrolls, spell books, compendiums of creatures and more). Only members of the King’s Guard and elite individuals are allowed to enter this library.
This is the story of Felix Farrack and it is an adventure story. When the Dracos escape and resume terrorizing Magos, it is up to Felix to figure out how to bring the Prowlers and the Horns together to defeat the Dracos. Felix is a talented young Horn male who becomes a hero.
The Outlands of Magos is where the Horn population is centralized. The Horns live simple, peaceful lives. Close to nature, they build their homes into the sides of mountains. Discipline and honour is very important to these people. They worship Krar and attempt to be a strong community that prides itself on being resilient, in accordance with the Legend of Krar.(*)
Felix’s father, Tumo, and mother, Elura, raised their children to be courageous, strong and compassionate. Tumo is a captain of the forces that guard the Horn Outlands.
When Felix was a young boy he lost his older sister, Madeline, when they were attacked by a band of raiders. After Madeline was killed Elura retired from the Guard so she could stay home to protect young Felix. This tragedy motivates Felix to protect the people in his life and join the Outland guard with his best friend Jaylen. Striving to do his best doesn't mean Felix isn't also a funny, occasionally insecure and always interesting character who possesses untapped potential.
Over the passing generations, a sense of purpose and direction was lost among the wider population of Magos. This begot raiding. Raiders are gangs of various races who have one thing in common – they are selfish and cruel. They will steal from anyone and they destroy everything in sight.
(*) The Horn Culture’s Deity
The Horn’s belief system is based on a legend. The legend tells of a Hammer Deity called Krar who watches over Magos. Before he was a god, Krar was a powerful mage. He wanted to live in peace with his family forever so he created a spell and cast it on himself and his loved ones. However, he miscalculated and the spell instead stole the lives of his loved ones – forever trapping them in his hammer. Only Krar was granted immortality by the spell. After years of isolation and self imposed exile, Krar’s skin turned to stone. He ascended to the next world where, legend tells, he watches over Magos for eternity. (On Magos, when humanoids refer to a“God” they are speaking of Krar.)

What you are funding is a small print run of the first issue and the costs of labour to produce it! This includes printing, colouring, formatting for pdf etc. I have taken on as much of the responsibility to lower the cost of this project. I believe this is a manageable amount to ensure we get the backing. Let's get this thing funded!
Examples of 11x17 Art Mini Poster. If funded, a survey will be sent out to those who bought poster rewards to determine which one they want A or B:
Risks and challenges
There are always challenges when undertaking a large project like developing your own indie comic story. Spending your own time, money and resources to create something out of nothing isn't easy.
That said, I've eliminated as many risks as possible. The script and back story is complete. The interior pages are half way done and are already being stored for the final product. It's just a matter of covering the printing and colouring costs.
Proper planning and organization has been an essential part of this comic. Ensuring that we have a professional grade product is of the utmost importance. We want our backers to get a really cool comic book.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
