Kingdom Builder Expansion 3: Marshlands (Canceled)
Marshlands is the 3rd exciting expansion after Nomads and Crossroads for the award wining game Kingdom Builder from Donald X.Vaccarino.
Kingdom Builder: Marshlands the third boxed expansion for Kingdom Builder designed by Donald X. Vaccarino builds on this already exciting world of skill acquisition and land dominance.
What makes the Marshes expansion unique from the standard game of Kingdom Builder is the opportunity to double your abilities and gain a third. There are 24 location tiles with 8 new abilities and 12 summary cards for the edges of the board. Collecting 2 of the same location tile gets you that ability x2 and earns you a 3rd. This could really change the game up.
There are 4 new board quadrants with the Marshes land type on them. Castles have been replaced with Forts adding a different scoring possibility. To go along with this new land type 5 Marsh terrain cards are added to the terrain deck.
There are also 6 new Kingdom Builder cards with some exciting new gold earning conditions.
All the set up and rules from Kingdom Builder the standard game apply. To use the Marshland expansion add the 5 marsh terrain cards to the terrain deck, these have 2 terrain types on them Marshes and one of the standard terrain types from the standard game so, they can be used even if you are not using this expansion.
Choose 4 of the board quadrants. This could be all 4 of the Marshland board quadrants or a combination of board quadrants from the standard game and other Kingdom Builder expansions.
Doubling your abilities and gain a third is where this new expansion really shines.
Collecting 2 of the same location tile gets you that ability x 2 and earns you a 3rd. For example you have collected the Ride this one ability lets you move one of your pieces into an adjacent land hex. If you collect a second Rider, then in addition to getting to move twice via your Riders, you can also jump one piece in a straight line to the first empty land hex. This could move that piece into the adjacent hex - if that hex is empty - or over many occupied hexes. This could really change the game up and that’s only one example of a doubled ability with the additional third ability.
Kingdom Builder: Marshlands is filled with different twists to this already classic game.
We have a new release policy for Kickstarter releases. Games will be released once they are available in their particular region. The games will first be available in the EU. North America will be 6-8 weeks after that and for backers everywhere else it will be 8-10 weeks from the EU launch.
All additional costs that may occur because of custom duty or local charges are the backers responsibility.

Our toughest challenge with our previous projects has involved the coordination of production when a game is made with components from different manufacturers. This creates some logistics and shipping challenges that we want to improve upon. Going forward our plan is to minimize this situation so that we can better manage our production timeline and delivery. Due to circumstances out of our control like extreme weather delays of 2-3 months or longer can occur in individual cases.
Due to shipping time (ocean transit, customs, rail/truck, and final delivery), our release policy for Kickstarter Games releases is that they will be released in the EU when they are available since we produce in Holland. The USA will be 8-10 weeks after EU and for backers everywhere else including Canada could be 10-12 weeks or longer from the EU launch.
